Apple is sued by Caltech over the use of four Wi-Fi patents

Just the other day, we told you that Apple's legal team had its hands full with portfolio holding company VirnetX. The latter had won a jury award of $625 million against Apple, and was seeking an additional $190 million. It also asked the judge to force Apple to shut down its iMessages and FaceTime features. Now, Apple's attorney's are being called on again to defend the company in another patent infringement case...

Again, why don't you tell them your little game plan. It doesn't matter to me. It's just a tech blog where a bunch of anonymous users are having a pissing contest. Well except for Scott. I think he's just trying to fit in.

I'm actually testing the limits of what's allowed on this site by making you my bitch... and giving everyone a good laugh at the same time. I'm sure the only reason why I'm not already booted at this point is because the site's admin hate you too.

And that's just proof that you are deeply bitter and socially inept.

Yeah, I have very little tolerance for stupid people. I'm guessing I should apologize to you for that. I'm sorry stupid person.

I won't apologize for making you my b***h.

First off, who's them? You were the one bitching me out for doing something, now you're doing it, and when called on it it's someone else's fault.

161. Mxyzptlk unregistered

I didn't b*tch at you for anything here other than the current argument we are in.

How are you not getting this? I said in a previous comment that you have done this IN THE PAST. You even acknowledged it in another comment. I've been referring to you doing here what you've bitched me out for doing IN THE PAST. And you still didn't answer me, who is the "them" you referred to in post 162?

Dude, maybe you should stop living in the past. Most of our arguments have gone back and forth so many times that I don't recall every little detail. Them being the Android hive mind.

Again, why are you bringing others into this? This is between you and me, period. I don't give 2 $hit$ what Meanest, Scott, or anyone else did or didn't do. As far as living in the past, Google vs Oracle is also in the past, didn't stop you from bringing that up.

.... Well this is embarrassing, you misspelled your name, it's Bitch, not b*tch. You get onto other people for spelling but here you are doing the same thing.

Actually, there are a few ways it could play out. As xondk said, they could use a win against Apple as a precedent to go after other companies. They could use the money won on this case to fund going after other companies. Or going after the largest company and beating them could be used as an intimidation tactic to force other companies to settle (like the saying on your first day in prison, beat up the largest guy in there to make others think twice about messing with you. Regardless, going after the highest profile company first sends a message to other infringing companies to consider settling.

This is no different than when Apple sued Samsung. You go after the giant, and all the little guys will fall in line if you win. It stinks, but it's the smart way to do it.

Samsung sure copied apple's iphone 3(s) to make galaxy s1. Samsung should pay for that...and in this case, broadcom is at fault and should pay for it. Apple is being dragged into this...for being just apple.

because apple did not offer n and ac until recently and patent laws take time to activate and background check from gov.

Other company's couldn't sue Apple b2cause they had the protective umbrella if the US Gov't. Now that it's been taken away, the rain of suits are facing with a heavy downpour. This is only the beginning. Before this year is over, Apple will get hit with more new lawsuits.

Well sometimes judges rules its under fair use of tech and sometimes just penalty!! This lawsuit , patent infringing should be shut down!!

So Caltech doesn't have the right to present their case like Apple did with the companies they took to court? They've brought their suit, it's up to the judge to determine if it has merit or not. But this isn't some patents troll, it's a school lauded for their technological contributions. They didn't buy IP to be used to shake down other companies like patent trolls do, they developed these technologies themselved. And I would imagine the money would also fund further technological advancements as well.

Another day, another time Apple steals someone else's intellectual property. Apple has no shame.

WTF?! Damn, Apple! Just how much IP from other companies are you using without their consent/without licensing it? Forget about karma btchslapping Apple, Karma is stomping a mud hole in Apple and walking it dry.

That has absolutely nothing to do with Apple and their infringing on others IP. Stop deflecting.

Ok course it didn't according to your standards.

You just can't help but deflect when Apple is shown in a light that isn't favorable to you.

84. Mxyzptlk unregistered

But didn't you just do that with a recent blackberry article?

It's what you do in every article you post in.

"This is great news. BlackBerry already pushes out updates themselves to GSM unlocked phones purchased from them or other internet outlets like Amazon. A handset that was previously locked to a specific carrier but is now now unlocked should be no different. Personally, I wish all OEM's followed Apple's route (minus the bug-ridden software) and pushed software updates straight to the handset themselves, bypassing the carriers. Google does the same with its Nexus brand, and Microsoft with its Insider Program." That's my comment form the most recent BlackBerry article that you're referring to. Here's the article: When one deflects, it's to take others attention away from something that they like being shown in a bad light. Tell me where in this article that BlackBerry was shown in a bad light, and where in my comment that I was deflecting so others would not pay attention to BlackBerry being shown in a bad light in this article? Oh, you can't? That's what I thought.
