"Great screen. Please stop flogging that POS display. That crappy screen for starters is the lowest resolution display on any smartphone today. Even low end Android smartphones these days have higher resolution displays." Screen is LOT more than pixels what most people can't see or care.. Watch EVERYONE pick the iPhone XR over a 1080p Screenhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcFXEXJicgc and please don't try to give any excuse about pocophone has bad screen you just said even lowend android phones have better resolution. That's not the point no-one in the video said that pocophone 1080p screen look sharper, no-one. XR screen is great and most can't see anything else than just great looking screen. it's not like people watching their phones with magnify glass, this might be hard for you to understand.

Midan the screen is the most important part of any smartphone, period. It's what we all interact with, and VIEW. Look smartphones from years ago had higher resolution displays, and at much lower cost to customers. An example is the Moto G5 in 2017 had a 5.2" full HD resolution display. The phone only cost $189. The G6 in 2018 had a 5.7" full HD+ resolution display for $200. The G6 plus has a 6" full HD+ resolution (1080x2160) display for $249. My point is if companies can sell a device like this for this amount of money with a much better resolution display. Then Apple could have easily put a full HD+ display in the XR instead of the current HD+ display. If you want to view Full HD video, or movie, then the XR has to scale it down to it's low HD+ resolution. You pay $750 USD ($1030 CAD) and Apple had to cheap out on the most important component of any smartphone. Midan stop making excuses for Apple's lame specs. No wonder why Apple sales tanked.

"Midan the screen is the most important part of any smartphone, period" and just like i said, screen is lot more than few extra pixels and there a lot more important things what makes screen great. People care how the screen overall looks, not few extra pixels. Seriously think, people still buy computer screen everyday which actually look like a crap, do they really care? people buy tablets and think the screens are great and they have lot lower PPI than smartphones even that XR. Again people don't care nearly as much as you think those extra pixels which most can see by using magnify glass. It's exact same thing than when phonearena have blind camera comparison and people in here are looking diffferences with magnify class. Again no-one in real world does that, people can't see the difference and neither care. Like i said you are clearly overestimating regular phone buyer in very big way just like i said, most just see great looking screen when they look XR screen.

Remember that sales motto midan. A sucker is born every minute. That is the vast majority of Apple's customers.

You can certainly say that about many iPhone users they will take what Apple gives them. Android users have more choice as they are more discerning. So sorry, you severely overestimate iPhone buyers and underestimate Android users.

Anyone with a half decent income can buy an iPhone where contracts and leases are available why do they all not buy iPhones? I and millions of others could buy iPhones and many of them, why do we not? Beautiful? Massive notch and camera hump on half the range, gigantic bezels and camera hump on the rest, there are many more beautiful and better-designed phones out there. Long lasting? With Apples built in obsolescence, fragility and expensive repair costs, no. It just works ...... do you actually still believe that rubbish?

Piyath let me asked you a question. What's inside your head, an air or a fat. Your theory is 100% nonsense, if you think lowering their price best solution then why apple didn't done it in the first place. Look at the top flagships right now, almost every best features are on the android phone: camera, battery life, Network speed etc. are android phones. Gone are the days that iphone is a factor of status symbol. So wake up dude.

I know that you know what you are saying is totally inaccurate. iPhone XS is as futuristic and modern as (even more in my opinion) latest Samsung or other Android phones. Just compare the iPhone XS Max Vs Galaxy Note 9 (go to gsmarena.com literary and compare them), you'll see that Apple on par with all the other modern technologies in the world. Network speeds are now Gigabit LTE on iPhone XS, Intel provided the latest modems this time. Check your facts dude.

“Intel provided the latest modems” LMAOOOOO! That’s one of the biggest problems. You could’ve listed anything, but that.

Why my intel modem working perfectly with X? i Didn't even know before you that my X has intel modem, i thought it had qualcomm modem and in one year have had zero problems with network.

Well, here's the problem with your post...that is exactly what we'd expect you to say.

It's a fact, also why you are the only one whining about the modem.

Are you burying your head in the sand and saying no-one is complaining about the inferior modems Apple are using? Read around and you will find it is a problem for many, no one.

What about the inferior modems on iPhones?

Apple can't just reduced prices. iPhones are a lifestyle product. It's like saying to sell more BMWs they should just reduced prices. Not possible. It's not their business model.

Understood, but they can make a more compelling device, that a more attention buy for the money.

Apple stopping reporting sales numbers have zero effect to this data. The iPhone data would come next week if they still release iPhone numbers. So CIRP would have to have time machine. CIRP data comes from survey

I thought the XR didn't sell well enough?

It didn't say it was, just said it sold the most. I can sell 100 cars but if they're all Corollas am I making a profit?

Just because it sold the most out of the 3 doesn't mean it sold well.

"The iPhone XR's 39% share was the best share for a single new for a new iPhone model since 2016's iPhone 7" Did you miss this part?

Did you miss this part? "The CIRP data was compiled from a survey of 500 people who purchased an Apple device during the fourth quarter of 2018." I thought this was an interesting article based on shipping records etc, then i got to the bottom of the page and saw that it was a survey. About as scientific as a big of chips.

i didn't, what's wrong with the survey? that's how they always do it. You can get quite accurate data from small survey. This data looks very believable and is propably very close to real situation. for you what looks wrong about this data?

50. Atechguy0

You have got to be kidding. Let's survey ONLY 500 iPhone users, this data is going to be accurate for iPhone users only? Haha, that is a good one. What a joke.

500 is actually lot for survey and they already have their earlier data from many years to help how to read their survey. You should read about surveys. With 150 people you can already do quite good survey. it sounds small but i found one article which explains everything about surveys, it was interesting article. I think CIRP data is quite accurate, mixpanel realtime data showing same thing. Or what part sounds inaccurate to you?

Does that mean the iPhone X and XS are overpriced rubbish? I am always being told Apple users can afford the best, so why buy the XR?
