Just Wondering, Apple stop report iPhone number sale and how are these people come up with these number, approximate or speculate?

Maybe they are sharing the percentages, if not the actual sales numbers.

If anything this should tell everyone how gullible customers really are these days. An overpriced, and under speced device from Apple. Apple and its investors should feel proud of themselves.

Plus there is a lot of BOGO deals for the iPhones, and there is buy an iPhone XR for free and get a free gift card as well. Remember iOS customers always have to settle with what ever Apple makes. They make 3 iPhones for the year, and that is it. If you want an iOS device, then your only option is to settle with whatever Apple makes.

Best part about this survey is they only interviewed 500 new iPhone buyers in the US. Oh, well that's just as accurate as holding your finger in the wind to forcast the temperature for next week.

500 is actually lot for survey and they already have their earlier data from many years to help how to read their survey. You should read about surveys. With 150 people you can already do quite good survey. it sounds small but i found one article which explains everything about surveys, it was interesting article. I think the CIRP data is quite accurate, mixpanel realtime data showing same thing. Or what part sounds inaccurate to you?

The only thing this small survey can tell you is which iPhone is the best selling. Sure I understand that in a survey. But it cannot tell you how many in total sold. No way, no how, period. What is more telling midan is the companies that supply components, parts, and build for Apple. They tell the real story. Their sales fell, and their immediate forecast is most revealing. That is why even Apple cut their own projected sales forcast.

"But it cannot tell you how many in total sold. No way, no how, period. " This article isn't talking about anything about total sales and neither CIRP? why you bring that up? Only point of this survey is exactly to show which iPhone is most bought among users, nothing more or less, they been doing this exact same survey many years already.

With 150 people you can do quite a good survey of ......250 people? You need over 1000 to be statistically confident of 5,000,000 people with a 3% margin for error and 95% confidence level. Since I'm willing to bet that more than 5,000,000 iphones were sold in Q4 - this survey is not relevant.

It's also a survey that is only done in the US, and only those who bought new iPhones. It doesn't say where they did this survey specifically, like what part of the country. It's a crappy survey to pump up Apple. That's all it's doing.

You must not be a statistician... An ideal (representative) sample has to be at least 20 percent of total number

Maybe only 500 people bought new iPhones?! It's quite possible things could be that bad.

Because if they did Samsung and pixel fanboys will weep.....lol Apple will sell boatloads of iPhones anyway for many decades to come. Their business model is so hard to beat. All they have to do is reduce prices a little bit if they need to. Android will go extict if they did that. Seriously!

Android is an operating system, that's on over 80% of phones in the world, and is given away free to various OEM's. You're really reaching here lol. Google/Alphabet didn't just lose 350 million, and have to start writing letters, and doing damage control...Apple did.

Do you even know the average selling prices of iPhone VS Android phone in the entire world?? It's $800 VS $250. Hope you understand what I'm saying.... Apple can invade every Android market easily if they chose to do so by lowering their prices a little bit. Yes a little price cut will go a long way in Apple world. People admire Apple products but they don't have enough money to buy them, thus they buy alternative cheap products, be it smartphones or laptops. At least that's what's happening in the majority of the developing world. Only a few nerds here and there will chose their platform according to their preference just because they know too much about iOS and Android BUT the average consumer don't care at all about the operating system. They just need a beautiful, long lasting, quality phone that just works.

You just can't seem to stay consistent with your arguments. You mention Pixel and Samsung in one comment like they're the only Android OEM's in existence, and then the next comment you mention $250 Android phones - neither Samsung or Google are currently offering phones in the $250 range....but apple is though (SE), and twice within one week lol. Android users have so many OEM options...you have but one?? "They just need a beautiful, long lasting, quality phone that just works". Huawei has features that your iPhone will be craving for at least another 2-3 years...and I'm not just talking sales or global domination. The one with the slide up camera module...they're going to dominate apple as well. Note to self... don't name your company after fruit. Having said all of that now...I'm glad apple is leaning towards Android users (and climate change) for help in their desperate time of need. :) And just so you know? My LG V30 is a piece of crap when compared to my Nexus 6 with its dead battery...I see your iPhones have gotten worse with each new version. Cutting the cost any further will only hurt apple's brand further...and you know that.

Even at $800+ price tag, Android phones outsold iOS . So what is your point again? P.S. BTW the article refer only to US market.

You must have a short memory. iPhones a few years back did cost a lot less around 500 and no way did they dominate the market. Android was dominate then and still now. Many android users will never switch to iPhones regardless of price. I certainly will never even though I buy iPhones for family.

Come on, dude, iPhones go from 400€, SE is even cheaper than that; one needs to very poor to not be able to afford one...

The SE came out a few years ago, it's SoC is now 4 years old. That's just it people have to settle if they want an iOS device. It's not like customers have a large selection to choose from. Definitely not like Android users. Every week there is some new Android smartphones, tablets, or other devices. iOS users never see that.

That 4yo chip kicks ass even by today’s standards; it’s better than anything other than 8xx (and similar) in Android phones.

It's not better than a number newer 6xx SoCs. Nevermind the 8xx SoCs. Plus its 2GB of ram can't kick ass of anyone these days. It's 1.2 mp selfie cameras has been junk for years. In 2019 you can get watches with higher resolutions than the iPhone SE. Time to take the iPhone SE out to pasture and bury it. The iPhone SE is a perfect example of iOS users settling for low end hardware and specs.

I hope you can grasp what I am going to say. If the iPhone XR specs were in an Android smartphone, then those users wouldn't pay $750 for that POS. They would laugh at that crap. But you see iOS users always have to settle with whatever crap Apple feeds them. It's not like iOS users have a big selection of devices to choose from. iOS customers definitely have a paultry selection compared to Android customers. Every week we see some new Android smartphone coming down the pipes. iOS users just have to bite the bullet and pick up what ever Apple makes. Try to remember that piyath. Also if you have been looking, there have been a ton of XR deals that it isn't funny. Buy free iPhone XR and get a free gift card as well. There is even a number of BOGO deals on right now for the XR. If the XR is so good, and a great value as Timmy put it, then they wouldn't need these sales or BOGO deals for such a new iPhone.

" hope you can grasp what I am going to say. If the iPhone XR specs were in an Android smartphone, then those users wouldn't pay $750 for that POS. They would laugh at that crap." You are clearly overestimating android people. You know most of android users have no clue what they are buying. IF sales person says this is great phone, they will buy it they like it. What is wrong with XR specs? great camera, great screen, best in business chip, great battery life. What android users would laugh about it? IF we aren't talking about few paper specs boys.

Great screen. Please stop flogging that POS display. That crappy screen for starters is the lowest resolution display on any smartphone today. Even low end Android smartphones these days have higher resolution displays. Especially since you are talking best in business chip. So it should be able to drive a display that is certainly higher in resolution, than a crappy HD+ resolution display. Okay camera, certainly not the best. Many Android smartphones beat it. Best in business chip. Most definitely debatable, especially since iOS on iPhones doesn't have split screen multitasking, or real multitasking like you find on Android smartphones. Tasks on iOS are halted as soon as you go to run another app. That doesn't happen on Android. This new iPhone doesn't have 3D touch like it's XS brothers. Not a big deal for Android users, since they use long press. But it should tell iPhone users how cheap this iPhone really is in comparison to the other iPhones. Also it's glass is different from the XS. The XR has aluminum frame compared to stainless steel found on the XS. The XR has an iP67 water resistant rating. Many Androids have ip68 rating which is higher than the XR. Look the XR is $750 USD, or $1030 CAD, and it would NEVER sell at that price if it was running Android. That is a guarantee. Especially at that price. There are currently lots of Android smartphones with better cameras, much better displays, with more ram, and storage, and overall better spec ratings, period. You don't even have to look hard to see what I have said is 100% correct. Now as far as that part where you said "I am clearly overestimating android people. You know most of android users have no clue what they are buying. IF sales person says this is great phone, they will buy it they like it.". You can clearly say the same thing about iPhone users. More so for iOS users, because Apple themselves don't like to list specs. But as we all know today specs do matter. But getting back to where customers have no clue. That is definitely true for many. It's why Apple is good at flogging their crap, besides it's not like iOS customers have a large selection to choose from. Apple sales people firmly believe in that sales motto. "A sucker is born every minute". That is the vast majority of iOS customers to a tee.
