Apple iPhone X unveiling shows us that BlackBerry 10 was ahead of its time

0. phoneArena posted on 12 Sep 2017, 23:18

When Apple today showed off some of the gestures that Apple iPhone X users will be doing in order to get back to the home screen, or to multitask, it might have brought back some memories for those of you who used to use, or still use, BlackBerry 10. That's right folks, the same swipe up from the bottom of the iPhone X screen that takes you back home at any time, can be used to take you back home on the BlackBerry Passport!...

Yes. Nokia N9 with MeeGo, was a buttonless device with similar gestures. That was more than 6 years back.

N9 meego did both swipe gestures and double tap wake and gets no mention. Sad. Of course, we can't forget Web OS, which did it around the same time too, long before Bb OS10. These editors get their info from random tweets I see! Lol.

It's true, Nokia with MeeGo and Palm with WebOS before them started with the gestures, and BlackBerry with BB10 added to it. The pioneers of this industry truly innovated.

Please, will somebody resurrect WebOS and put it on phones? It died prematurely because Palm paired it with crap hardware. But man, was it sweet.

If you believe in WebOS, do it yourself; get a loan, get investors and bring it back.

He's right though. WebOS was awesome, but it was on really crappy hardware. It made the Priv look like a buttery smooth phone.

WebOS and Palm were killed by the market (or they were ahead of their time) and the market is always right.

WebOS was smoother than your deities OS, that's for sure.

Better than BB10, which has forgotten. Looks like you were triggered by the truth.

Clearly your deity Apple didn't forget about BB10. That's why they're emulating some of BB10's hardware and software features. Looks like you're even more triggered by the truth.

But swipe up doesn't unlock the phone like bb10 does.

The truth is like the rain, it doesn't care who it falls on.

Maybe some Apple fans are beginning to realize they are wet.

Hey did anybody notice the 50$ price increase of the ipad pro 10.5 256GB? I was planning to buy the 256GB wifi version. It costs $749 while $649 for the 64GB version.

I wondered why Apple charged the iphone a $150 extra for the higher 256GB storage option when the iPad pro price is only $100 extra. Looked at apple's website and then poof, the iPad price also changed. The way of the Apple....

Wow. I've been saying this since forever, but the trolls and haters here just refused to see it, and all they could talk about is the lack of apps. App gap aside, BlackBerry 10 is still a phenomenal, feature packed OS, and even Apple thinks so, and that's why it's "borrowing" features from BlackBerry 10.

Waiting for the incoming barrage of comments from certain iOS fanboys that are triggered by the truth.

If Apple was able to file a lawsuit against Samsung for swipe to unlock, can BlackBerry now file one against Apple?

Obviously Apple has no problem taking ideas from others, but on the rare occasion they have one of their own they fight to prevent others from copying them.

Well blackberry loves to sue since they don't have the capability to get revenue elsewhere, but lol no.
