Fairly unbiased conclusion. #10 is about as real as it gets. Version 2 of the X will probably be far better and may be worth the money, the current price is hard to justify. 8 is boring but with the deals on them it had far more value for the price. (Like my 8 + very much)

First time ever i have difficulties to pick a colour. I always choose black and in my opinion all tech and gadgets looks best in black. Ordered space gray when preorders started, but seeing the silver version in real life i have to say it looks very very good! I Haven't yet seen the space gray in real life.

I agree the lighter one looks best. Even though both are fingerprint magnets, the lighter color will hide them somewhat better.

1 - Spot on 2 - Spot on 3 - No. It can be fooled by twins. In this video, a laptop running Windows 10 with similar technology, was not fooled by twins.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1NL246P9Vg 4 - I think its just to many gestures to remember. I only spent 20 mins with the device, and in that span of time I forgot much of it. This video might help.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUuK_Gzfn-c 5 - The iPhone has pretty much always taken great pictures. Still not on par with other devices like S8 and Note 8. I think its as good as being between the S7 and S8. Better than the S7, not quite as good as the S8. 6 - Until iOS 11 gets all the beta bugs worked out, then the performance is hit or miss. The device I was using was on the original firmware and it was fine. Same software on my iPhone is not giving me remotely similar performance it had on iOS10 7 - This is hard to compare because the out of box experience, and after you install server-side applications that run in the background will certainly drop the battery usage dramatically. I expect most will get the same 5-6 hours of typical usage. 8 - For a phone that costs $1000, I assume most parents likely won't buy a kid this device. I think its to kiddish, but to each its own. I played with that for like 2 mins and I got bored with it. 9 - Well you were way more negative when the Galaxy S8 appeared with its new aspect ratio.https://www.phonearena.com/news/Samsung-Galaxy-S8-display-Whats-the-deal-with-the-new-aspect-ratio_id92777 Now that Apple has it, look how calm you all are now. You're in love with it, even though like the S8 you will have to wait until apps you use are optimized for the resolution and aspect ratio. 10 - Sure is more exciting considering the iPhone 8 uses the same design as the 3 previous models. I think Apple knew the iPhone 8 would have lower sales. I don;t think they however expected the 6S and 7 to have better sales though and I am sure they expect most would jump on the X, but then they didn't even have enough to fill pre-orders as per usual. Apple is still behind the curve, but at least they can see around the corner now.

You rite, it even beter than the S8/Note 8, DxoMark gave iPhone X highst rating for stills in a smartphone ever LOL, so batthurt dun worry, Galaxy s9 will hav apple screen calbration magick too P.S, no 1 believe for second u have iPHone or iOS device, no 1, don' waste time on PA

I take all scores on all sights equally with the same proverbial grain of salt. The S8 and Note 8 take better low light photos. They both also have better dynamic range and the Galaxy doesn't blow the sky out like the iPhone. The iPhone camera is still over balances with white and the photos are now over saturated which when the Galaxy was this way you all claimed you hated it and now you think it's best, now that the Note is taking more natural pictures. Still liking your own comments no matter what user name you have. Lol. it's hard. Both iPhone still have terrible battery like too. https://youtu.be/7H9pAn4Hl50 Both the iPhone 8 Plus and X died in 5 hours or less, with just 1 hour of usage in each round. Yet PA claims they got 10 out the iPhone 8 Plus. That is a complete and uttered bold face lie. If their test got 10 hours and we get only half using the phone in a real.test as normal, then it's obvious PA test is either faulty, rigged or both. I'm going with both.

You seem to leave a lot of comments regarding how PA side with Apple and 'lie' all the time. Yet you are still on the website commenting (pronounced trolling). Very curious behaviour indeed!

Bro, Do you even DXO mark? iPhone X blows every other phone in still capturing. Video is where it's lacking. Google already pushes update for Pixel 2/XL camera, and I hope Apple will do the same. We will get the see two giants compete to a point a camera phone perform very close to low end DSLR. It's great to be a tech enthusiast.

I care of what I see side by side. The problem with test is simple, none of them are real world. First, in the real world, none of us have professional.equipment to test phones None of us have rigged software tests either. We lull the phone out the box, we install out apps which won't be use ticsl.to what is in tests, We won't be opening 25 apps in a row,. We won't me dropping a phone over and over until.it breaks. We won't be use picks to scratch the phone on purpose. We all.do the same things on phones, but in different ways. Out experience for each person with a phone, eve. The same.phome will not be identical I agree with a lot of what I read from DXO, Displays are and others. But my choice is based on what I like, what I see and what things matter to me. Not a bunch of tests that are not anywhere close to how I actually use my phone I read those sites to get an in-depth analysis of what the hardware is capable of and looking to get an idea of the results. All results vary under circumstances. Number 1 and main, my phone isn't gonna perform exactly the same because they are setup the same.

I agree to an extent, but DXO uses scientific based testing methods including real world, portrait, in studio, detail, texture and low light. It's as good as a testing can get. Pretty sure no testing is perfect, but DXO usually gives a really accurate score. Take Pixel 2 XL as an example, it uses a lot of algorithm to alter an image post processing, so it's more like a hit and miss even though it works 90% of the time.

"Bro, Do you even DXO mark? iPhone X blows every other phone in still capturing." https://9to5mac.com/2017/11/06/iphone-x-scores-97-dxomark/ Bro, do you even research? According to this article iPhone X does NOT blow every other phone in still capturing.

Do you even know Dxomark'a overall score is for both still and video? iPhone X has a still capturing score of 101, the highest score of any smartphone to date, Period. Come on man, at least try to read the whole article before presenting an argument. I own both iPhone X, Pixel 2 XL and Xperia Z5, I don't do bias.

(the iPhone X scored a 101 in the photo subcategory) I did read it, boss. That's a subcategory. And no one said you're biased; just that you didn't back your 'facts'. ;-)

Obviously "still capturing" means photo. If you have to be technical, video is usually 24/30/60/90/120 frames of still capturing per sec. I don't know how to back up more fact than pointing out that DXOmark gave iPhone X 101 for still capturing AKA Photo.

Riight, but you're downplaying the overall score to make it seem like 101 is the overall score.

Rule of thumb, third revision of any iteration of iSO is the stable one. You're a lab rat for the first 2 revisions.

Spot on review. The gestures are a charm and easy to get use to I had it down in one day now it's just fast and fluid.Camera is great but I have yet to see the purpose for portrait mode on front camera because I haven't seen it work yet.Battery is great and I laughed at animoji but after using it,it is a great feature to play with.I have the Silver version all and all i'm impressed with the phone and the notch doesn't bother me as near as much as most is making it out to be not a problem for me.Only thing I was pissed about I think it was stupid for them to not include a fast charger in the box making you pay extra for real dumb. But no worries I won't be giving Apple my money for that at all I've found a good one that's way cheaper and charges quite fast.

Very nice phone, can't lie about that. IOS needs more features, especially multitasking. For me iOS doessnt nearly suck, but it's a little boring.

Totally agree with your comment, but what are you referring to when you say multitasking? Just seeing if we're thinking the same thing.

IPad like, Note like. Split screen, or picture in picture, or floating Windows.

Got it. Yea, it's definitely lacking that. That swipe to get to the next app feature is nice though.

I love that swipe feature. The X is a nice device bro. Just a few things away from being nearly perfect.

"Even core applications like Google Maps" Core apps? Why did you even use google maps on iPhone, use apple maps

16. TypicalGeek

Because Google Maps works better than Apple Maps on iPhone. And it will only get better.

Apple Maps started off as a catastrophe but now it is a lot better to use than Google Maps. Google Maps is much more comprehensive in the data they have but the user interface when using it and whilst in navigation mode can't compare to Apple Maps. Apple Maps is a lot simpler and shows the information you need when you need it. Google Maps on the other hand it cluttered and the voice for navigation is terrible too. Plus Apple Maps integrates with well with other core iOS Apps and it just works better.
