That is a conveniently forgotten factoid as well. To see such an older phone selling at such a rate right before an updated variant is released is pretty impressive. Guess the "Headphone Jack or die" pundits won't be pleased with these statistics.

Not forgotten but less relevant for iPhones since there are no new iPhone releases since the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. Meaning, that was all the choice you had within iOS in Q2, as far as the latest models. Where as in Android land, almost every week sees new competition and even in high end Android land, we see new releases every month.

My iPhone 7 still runs better and is more reliable than my Samsung S8 (exynos version).

So, the market has spoken: iPhone is neither ugly, nor boring, in fact it is the opposite... But it would have been interesting to see a competitor closer to iPhone sales, it would have spiced up a bit the things :).

And Kim Kardashian is the queen of America. Proves how marketable people are in this demographic. Certainly not better tech by any means but people buy into the brand and message.

Gou are a moron. First off the article you link says, 3 months ending in may. At that point the S8 had only been out for maybe a month. Wake up and actually read the article you linked Again you prove yoir ignorance. The S8 was release April 21st. Which means by th3 end of May it was on sale foe only about a month. Again you prove tbat you are an illiterate desperate fool, who can't even comprehend what he reads. The very first paragraph under the image states and I quote " SamsungĀ has climbed up to the top in US market share in the three-month period that ended in May,^ This is now August.

Hey dummy. You have to stop showing your ignorance. Post 69 is replying to post 68 where it says American are not buying smartphones for the tech but for brand image. You know..where Samsung has the highest marketshare.

I was referring to "ugly" and "boring", which are subjective traits. Although I also think iPhone pack the best tech available.

Looks like the Galaxy S is selling at its typical normal rate on average. All to the dismay of the PA writer/haters and their fan club. Good show by both. Enjoying my S8+ and iPhone 7+. They both have earned their respected places in the market. Samsung is on track to sell another 80M phones this quarter and havign another year of sell 300M+. something no other OEM's is gonna do for a while. Samsung has sold over 2Billion phones in the past 6 years, while it took Cupertino, 10 years to do the same thing. I wonder how much betetr they would have done is: A: Apple didn't stay exclusive to ATT for 5 years B: Made one than one model in a year C: Didn't have Android to halt their market dominance. Apple likely won't get the 3rd quarter though, because as we can see the sales are already half what they are for Apple's Q1. Then of course the Christmas and Black Friday rush is upon us and PA will just copy/paste this article again.

My brother bought a 7 Plus yesterday. I told him to wait for the 7S / 8, but he said he didn't want to pay as much as those will be. Got his 7 Plus for $350 CAD on contract.

I just don't get why people criticize PA, for posting this info, like it's a lie and Apple can't do these numbers. Let's be real here, the iPhone is a damn good device. I criticize it for what it doesn't have, that I feel it should, but those things would only make it even better. It doesn't need the things I list to be a great device...its already that. People including myself (I owned em all up to the 7 Plus), continue to buy the iPhone cause its a sold device, and these numbers aren't shocking. Wait till the iPhone 8 and 7S series launch. Anyone thinking they won't sell a gazillion phones is plain nuts. The iPhone 8 is gonna be sold out, almost 100% of the time, and tons of people will have to resort to craigslist and a $400 Stop hating on the iPhone, it's a great device.

Which is fine. But if the S7E isnt worth $800, please give a legit explanation as to why the iPhone 7is worth $800? has ever been able to answer this question yet. I wonder why?!

Because of the ecosystem and all the services related to the iPhone: cloud, mail, fmi, office suite, support; they all cost a lot of money to be provided the way Apple does. Samsung doesn't have half of Apple's ecosystem, that's why its phones are not worth the asking price.

Techie, you've been explained "worth" at least 3 times since I joined this site. "Worth" is an absolute subjective matter. You will not be able to prove or disprove to anyone why YOUR favorite device is better than SOMEONE ELSE'S. You'd be a fool to dwell on this matter any further.

I'd love to switch to android, but there is no comparable android the same size or smaller than the iPhone 6s (galaxy a3 is close, but isn't made for the US). No I don't consider the small sony phones comparable. Been waiting a few years for one. So while android keeps seeing how much screen they can get away with, I'll keep getting an iPhone. Now do I wait for the 7S, or the SE 2?
