Apple iPhone 6 battery might have a higher capacity than originally thought

Here is some good news for those planning on picking up the 4.7 inch Apple iPhone 6. Sung Chang Xu, chief news analyst for ESM-China, revealed that the battery on the iPhone 6 might be a 2100mAh cell as opposed to the1810mAh juicer originally thought to be on board. The news analyst did confirm that there was an 1810mAh capacity cell used on the phone, but that was placed inside the device for testing...

With a smaller screen which is the biggest battery drain.

Samsung screwed up if this is true. The iPhone 6 would have a bigger battery than the Alpha if the 6 used 2100 mah. Oh well. I doubt it though. Apple like raping their customers like Darkjedi so if they can make millions on using 1800 mah instead of 2100 mah, you bet they will. Lol

You really think think apple will make fortune by giving 300mAh less? iPhones have low battery size because apple is design nazi and wants the phone to fit in a pre designed body while most other manufactures built it inside out and are able to give a better battery ( before you go all crazy on me i am agreeing with you lol ).

Every bit counts. Less than 720 p screen, 512 mb of ram, tiny battery. Keep in mind Apple recycles their parts for at least 2 years, sometimes more. The external design for two years and their parts for 3 years. The ipad 1 and ipad 2 used the same screen. The ipad 3 and ipad 4, and maybe even the iPad Air use the same screen. The iPhone 5 and 5s. And the iPhone 4 and 4s. If they can use 1800mah instead of 2100 mah for two years or more in a row, they can care less how long their phone lasts. They know you and Darkjedi will buy it even if it lasts less than a day. Android manufacturers will not think twice about putting in 3000 mah or changing their screens every year. Which is why skimping like Apple with the alpha is a ballsy move by Samsung. Either that or a statement. So yes, Apple will make a boatload off of selling 30 million phones at a cheaper price at the expense of their fan base.

iphone 5 and 5s have 1 gb ram . I have both nexus and iPhone i like both . why the hell do you have problem with me or him buying an iPhone . chill dude ,enough with anti apple sentiment .

4 and 4s had 512. The iPhone 6 won't have 2100mah, just like it won't have 3gb of ram. That is the Apple way. It's not about making it as compact as possible. The ascend p7 is tiny and all glass and metal yet it still has some beefy internals. Apple is about ripping people off. Not being anti Apple. Just discussing their business practices.

The ascend p7 has beefy internals? Not with that miserable SoC that barely can beat the iPhone 5 in GPU power and gets trounced by a 2 fold increase by the iPhone 5S.

If you swapped that CPU with a s801 it would be great. It doesn't change my point about hiim saying Apple skimps on battery to make their phones compact though. I am positive you can fit a high end CPU in place of that Kirin one. Everything it is on par with other flagships.

Bashing iphone for high price or small battery is justified but low ram is not. Ram is used differently by different os. 1 gb ram on iPhone is like having 2 gb on android .iso 7 uses about 350mb while stock android uses about 580mb.If you would ever uses iPhone 5 or 5s you would realise that 1 gb ram is quite good for iOS .

Yes, they will make a fortune. Keep in mind that Apple gets a slice of revenue for all Apple approved accessories, including battery packs. HP discovered you can reduce the cost of something by 90% if you fix it in the design. The Apple Way is to make more money, so they purposefully design products with basic deficiencies, knowing there's a lot more money in the pot now for fixing those deficiencies.

And don't you think they would make up more than those few millions by attracting a few thousands of additional people users with a 7,98 Wh battery instead of the 6,91 Wh one ?

It's calculated. The battery size won't make or break sales but millions of dollars of liquid profits for two years will help spur the stocks.

Calculated ? How you could calculate the behaviour of people ? I think you don't need a calculator when trying to put the biggest battery possible into a ultra thin phone. And if Apple is super greedy that they calculate every mAh, why they even bother investing billions into making a thinner device, a state of the art 64-bit chip, or their own software ? Because the competition can't make a device similar to the iPhone at the same manufacturing cost, doesn't mean Apple is greedy.

It's called market research. The whole point of market research is to calculate what people want in their products. No it isn't math let alone an exact science but it's still a calculation albeit a broad one. Their R and D costs are nowhere near Nokia and Samsung and they are more profitable. That is the definition of greed.....

until you can provide the numbers your argument is absolutely irrelevant . cooking a statement up is easy . Try to prove your point the next time.

IOS needs some sort of battery save mode. That will help

It's most certainly not the OS. It's the size of the battery more than anything else.

You know what this website needs? How about a good old-fashioned flame war between Android fanboys and iPhone fanboys? It's been **at least** five whole minutes since I last saw the comments section of an article on PA (pick an article, ANY article, even ones about WP or Blackberry) devolve into an "IPhone Sucks!" vs "Android Sucks!" pissing match.

Please! I beg you keep rambling on about the importance of a battery in a phone and how depending on the actual specs of the battery how it would change the world as we see it. Am i seriously the only one on here that doesn't give a rats ass about a stupid battery? Am I the only one who actually feels that these garbage articles about iphone rumors are beyond rediculous and that this industry has much more to offer than the constant gossip of a stupid phone that year after year is sold to the masses with only minor hardware changes and bug infested software that is labeled as perfect by both this website and the editors who are paid to write nothing but great things about Apple, the real sad stroy here is that Apple used to stand for something it used to be about originality and customization about breaking the mold about opening many possibilities and now look at it all that used to be is no longer there instead it was turned into a greedy self indulgent money hungry sueing corporation that would rather make sure it swallows up any and every form of originality and relable it with an "i....". Where people used to look onto Apple for freedom they have now moved on to new frontiers and some have all together have up on modern tech, since now a days one can not click on youtube.com without millions of cat videos being bombarded on your home page.

Wow, will it finally compete with the 2 years old Galaxy S3 with its battery and screen size/resolution ?

things have changed a lot since s3 , processors have become more efficient and screens used are IGZO which consume 40% less power.

In a ~2 millimeters thinner design and smaller dimensions overall. What's strange about that ?

"2100mAh cell." Apple's still living in 2010.

When you're going to introduce true multitasking along with a resolution that is bigger than 720p......... then a 2100mAh battery falls short on this
