Apple iPhone 4: be careful not to drop it

0. phoneArena posted on 24 Jun 2010, 04:51

Surely one of the worst experiences an iPhone user can have with their shiny toy is to accidentally drop it. The same seems to be valid for the new iPhone 4...

Anything is going to break if you drop it 4 or 5 times. These tests are stupid. All these guy is doing is promoting his shity ass company.FAIL

I have to agree with you here. Don't drop your phone. It's that simple. Really. You don't drop your coffee pot which you drink in the morning every day, and in the same manner you don't drop your phone.

Really? My friend has dropped his DROID over 30 times and it works perfectly, yea some of the black paint is chipped off but it works just fine. Face it, the iphone is a fragile item, it can't take any damage at all. I would know, I had the iphone before, I dropped it once and the screen went white...still worked but utterly useless. I did not want to deal with that again.

I have dropped my droid many times while in a drunken stupor and it works just as good as the day I bought it with little damage, just some scratches on the metal case. You can keep your pretty little iphone, I'm quite happy with my droid.

First your friend is a moron, 30 times? he has butterfingers because thats either exaggerated or he is not careful with his stuff. Go get the droid X and do this same exact test and lets see what happens. The droid is heavy and not the same as a phone that is keyboardless. The iphone isn't fragile, I have been running and going fast and my iphone fell and never broke....I disagree but respect your opinion

i've dropped my droid more than 100 times and it's naked, it still works.

why do you drop your phone a 100 times? are you retarded? or just a rich careless person that can replace it in a heartbeat. You don't sound like a person that takes of your stuff. You sound responsible my friend. Keep dropping your $500 phone then.

dude, what the fuck are you talking about? 10 times? you are fucking careless about your phone. Take care of your things, you are not going to drop the phone the way this guy is doing it. What does ATT have to do with this phone and it breaking? I have my opinion and you have yours. Thats fine.

Accidents indeed happen. So everyone please stop going over these. Phones fall. Phones break. Its mostly a matter of luck. However, one should be careful enough in order not drop their phone on a regular basis (unless you really hate it like I hate my nokia 5800 - but thats another issue). If your phone breaks it's not because it's made of low quality materials, be it a Droid, an iPhone or even a freaking N-GAGE. It's because you dropped it. Period.

i drop phones all the time.. on purpose. ive tossed all my phones over my shoulder to show customers how well they are built. i have yet to have to replace my phones. Blackberrys, cliqs, storms, mytouches... none have ever broken. dropping it is a part of life. if it cant be dropped.. its not worth buying.. period.

Apparently the millions upon millions of people who bought the iPhone\3G\3GS\4 as well as all the iTouch models, disagree with you, it appears. I pity your customers who have to endure seing a high-end phone being thrown on purpose. It's like crashing your car just to see how much damage if at all would be be caused. Sure, car crashes are part of life, but it doesn't justify not being very careful when handling it, not to mention crashing it on purpose. Same thing on phones. I can assure you that every phone manufacturer would tell you right away that their phone is not meant to be dropped.

Does anybody remember the article on the droid screen??? It has the gorilla screen which is a really strong glass. it made it one of the strongest touch screen phones out there. why apple doesnt use it is beyond me youd think they have enough money to invest in something smart like moto did. But then again if an iphone fanboy breaks their phone they'll just buy another one.Whisch is smart when your in it for money not quality. Motorolla actually cares about their customers and makes their phones quality which is why so many people are going for the DROID X...

THANK YOU, this test just proves this guy is a fag. That phone could have gone to someone that wanted it or needed one. He just wasted $600 to advertise to shity company.

I dropped my iphone 3gs four times and it never broke.....IT really DOESN"T MATTER ABOUT THE MATERIAL but HOW it falls. At the perfect angle with enough pressure all of these phones will crack.

while that is true, it happens much more frequently with phones that have a bezel around the screen. I guess theres just more inert pressure to start with. Concidering the iphone4 is just 2 pieces of glass held together by a metal bezel, its probably going to happen quite a bit. yell and call people retards all you want, but you dont see motorola or HTC making all glass phones.. LOL.
