U.S.Cellular announced on Friday that the new full-sized Apple iPad Air will be available from the carrier on November 8th; the Wi-Fi + Cellular model will be offered to the carrier's subscriber's online. For as low as $5 a month, iPad users can get a 300MB data only plan for $5, or pay $10 a month for 1GB of data. $20 buys you 2GB for the month while $30 brings you 4GB. The plans go all the way up to 50GB, which is priced at $335 a month...

Am I the only one who finds it funny that Apple is using the term "Retina" on their iPad Air yet the Airs display doesn't even break the 300ppi barrier....something the N10 did back in 2012

TBH Apple is still stuck in 2012. Sure they have a great new processor, but the rest of their specs are way outdated, and their new OS is basically IOS 6 with a (in my opinion) uglier skin layered on top.

Not trying to be a troll, but when Apple release a new iPhone or new iPad, Apple fans will still buy it, does this mean that Apple fans love outdated specs? Even Steve Wozniak isn't interested on the iPad Air.

Yep, some Apple fans can still justify the high price of an iPhone despite it having a sub-HD screen, massive bezels, 1 gb ram and a way outdated OS. The Woz is right passing on the iPad Air. Though I reckon he should take a second look at the Mini 2.

Or maybe at this point the specs are gimmick and you guys are the sheep.

Steve Wozniak is a bitter old hack who hates on apple because he bought out too early.

I have a feeling the full-size iPads aren't going to sell well at all. The iPad Minis are going to eclipse their sales.

The iPad's name is appropriate. It's basically filled with hot air. I would just purchase a cheaper iPad 3 or 4 online somewhere. The new chip doesn't really matter all that much; as the A5X and A6X are more than capable of running apps on iOS.

I rather get an iPad Air solely based on the thinner profile, A7 chip, and the fact that it would receive all of the new features in iOS 8 while all other models would be stripped of several. This would be my perspective if I was buying an iPad for the first time.

Makes sense to me Smurf, but then again we are techies, unlike others. +1

You're a moron, not a techie.

Also, as for a more thin profile, I'd rather save over $100 than have it a few millimetres thinner, such a change is insignificant. The A7 chip can also be eschewed as well, as it won't be appropriately taken advantage of within a year's time anyway, which would lead up to the A8 anyway.

The A6 is more than capable for the time being.

Now what would have made me buy this iPad, instead of sticking with the old ones is if:

- They improved the battery life rating
- Put more than one gig of RAM
- Actually improved the camera optics and shooting capabilities
- Put a more efficient display semi-conductor for energy conservation, instead of using the same crap for years.

Seriously, the only thing new about this is the graphics processor. It's so "meticulously" dumb how they get away with price skimming and they have idiots above me like this man thinking they're getting something "New" or "top of the line"; Apple's not stupid, they have marketing down masterfully.
