Apple iPad Air 2: all the new features

Just hours ago, Tim Cook and company took up to the stage at a private event at Apple's Cupertino campus to announce its latest additions to the iPad line -- the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3. Now, if we have to be completely honest, the latter doesn't bring much to the tablet with the exception of TouchID, but that's not at all the case with the former, which obviously received much more attention from Apple...

If we assume the A8X performance boost Apple is claiming is correct on real time results the competition could get really interesting here. The Tegra K1 beat the A8 by 20% odd. If A8X packs enough with those extra billion transistors, they could be neck and neck. Even though GPU performance is hugely improved on A8X, I doubt it will match up to Kepler. What's going to differentiate the two devices is the OS. Let's see how much Lollipop has improved. I'm not an Apple fan, but achieving that level of performance with 1 GB RAM makes iOS the most brilliantly optimized OS. Android has power, iOS has efficiency.

PA said "A first: An Apple SIM card that can be used with several carriers. This one is quite interesting, because it's unique to Apple and the cellular version of the Air 2 -- the company is including its own SIM card in the box. With Apple's SIM card, you'll be able to dynamically change your carrier in the US (Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile) so that you can pick the plan that serves you best literally on the go." nope... it's not the first, Single SIM card with multiple numbers has been available in Asia for years.

Touch ID, the only nice new feature (that should've come with the original iPad Air in the first place). Tilted volume and lock buttons???? Really PA??? Couldn't you find another better thing?

I've never bought a apple device but if they put the 8x in the new air I'd definitely buy 1
