Apple gains patent for embedding sapphire displays into LiquidMetal chassis

A new patent sounds like the beginnings of an Apple fan's dream iPhone, but we have at least one concern with the line of thinking that is present in the filing. Today, Apple was granted a patent that had been filed back in 2008 titled "Methods and systems for integrally trapping a glass insert in a metal bezel", but in plain English, it is a plan to embed a sapphire display into a LiquidMetal chassis...

Your wrong on that count. What Apple was fined for was using a technolgy without getting proper rights. The tech already existed and it was a physical hardware issue with radio bands. Apple sued for software related items that Samsung could have come up with a different solution but cleary didn't. Thats the difference, not saying Apple was right obvious they weren't because they also have to pay up.

Scum supporting abusing the legal system. Apple makes our court system look like a joke. "WE INVENTED Touchscreens *cough* nope *cough* SO GIVE US THE MONEY". Apple should be broken up for being a monopoly. They have their operating system monopolitzed. Even Microsoft at least allows other phone makers to use Windows Phone. But Apple wants to force people to buy their overpriced devices which is why Android is kicking Apple's butt in sells.

Actually iOS apps do crash more than Android http://www.phonearena.com/news/Android-4.x-is-more-than-twice-as-stable-as-iOS-7.1_id54459 And kitkat is quite bloatfree actually.

I'm not sure how you see it as bullcrap. If you find a way to do something better than it's currently done.. how's it bs to patent it?

A patent that they will never implement in their phones, but mostly to use it in law suits against those who will end up finding a way to use it.

Just use titanium instead or liquid metal

They are using LiquidMetal on the phones as well.. if you didn't hear. Which means they can mold shiny metal with a mold without having to machine it later. It is pressed in a vacuum so it doesn't develop bubbles. Apple plans on using it on all the new devices to fuse the Sapphire to the metal without having to put rubber in between like the current design. This is planned for all the iPads and iPhones, just saying. OOORRR you can just get a good ol plastic Samsung phone :P Plastic is the way to go some cheap dirt f**ks love touching plastic all day hahaha xD

Premium exterior with poor interior... outside is sapphire but inside is old 1gb ram, 1ghz processor, ancient display, old camera... all made up of law cost, cheap internals

Isn't liquid metal a terminator technology
