0. phoneArena posted on 13 Dec 2012, 20:22

A Delaware jury has ruled that Apple infringed on three patents held by MobileMedia Ideas LLC, which is a company formed by Sony, Nokia and MPEG-LA for the express purpose of holding a portfolio of intellectual property; while the damages have yet to be determined, MobileMedia CEO Larry Horn said that the amount should be "substantial"...

Doubt they have an argument to appeal with if they went with 'invalid due to obviousness' in the 1st round.

Why is it that whenever I read some article on Apple losing a patent war, it brings a smile on my face? Is it just me or anyone else is having this syndrome :)

I'm all for that. Heck, I wish Nokia would have sought an outright ban as well as royalties when they won their case against evil, I mean apple, a few years back.

taste their own medicine.

"due to obviousness"

all their patent almost obviousness and it seems everyone in USPTO just didn't mind at all, Apple even had rounded corner and stylus patent, that even so much biggest obviousness than this in the article.

These cases shows just how broken the current tech patents systems are. Make these companies prove with their products, NOT THEIR WALLETS, that they deserve the patents. Simple things like rectangular shape with rounded corners, slide to unlock, and the ones mentioned in this article should not have patents. If Apple really wants to compete with Samsung or any other Android OEM, than stop holding back and release a iProduct with the super beefy specs everyone wants, not a unnoticeable upgrade.

As I said before what goes up and will come down. Times to pay up goes for $10 Billion Apple is not poor. IF apple keep they mouth shut up and share tech with everyone we'll be happy. After Apple suit Sammy Everyone will follow and alway look for it what apple mistaken or weak spot to tacktle them.

is apple really one to talk about vague patents? some of the patents they own make me think that the patent office is drunk when the approved

This MXY guy is an attention seeking bastard and you guys have kept on feeding him with lotsa attention. Utterly ignore this moron and he'll slide into oblivion and probably open another account with another weirdly unpronouncable name.

I keep saying that too, people keep falling for it. I don't even thumb him down because it's a form of attention.
