Apple allegedly expects to ship a total of over 200 million iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus smartphones

At this point, it's already clear that Apple's iPhone 6 is basking in a lot of market popularity and the overall demand for the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus combined is topping the ones of the previous Cupertino flagships. Earlier today, we shared the news that Apple might have already seen profit on 21 million units of its newest smartphones, which is a spectacular result for roughly two weeks on the shelves...

multiply 200 million by an average of $1000 a pop and you are talking money whole countries don't make in 10 years!

For all the fans, I am going to show you all how desperate Apple. Apple is doing something carriers have never did for any top tier device. For the Trade-In of an iPhone 5S, the 4 major carriers in the USA; Sprint, Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile are offering the iPhone 6 for FREE. That's right, no top tier Android phone has ever been offered for free with a trading of the year prior model. EVER!!!! But the fans will say and criticize Android phone being sold free by carriers. A top end model has NEVER been given away free even on a 2-year agreement until several months after release, if sales are slow. In order to do this they must get permission from Apple. I am sure Apple told them from day one to give the device away if the person has a 5S. Problem is, how can they give a phone away if they are already on a contract? Unless you paid cash for the 5S, you are still under contract for it. First Apple and their fans bashed larger phones, now Apple is giving them away to encourage people to buy the crap, even though it bends like tinfoil. And I am sure I will get called a hater, but facts are facts. Just check the carrier web pages. Every carrier is even offer discounts when you trade in even older iPhones. Trade in a 5 or 5C and they will give you $100 off the cost of the iPhone 6. THIS HAS NEVER BEEN DONE FOR ANY ANDROID BASED DEVICE....EVERE!!!!

It's the resale value. Think about it. If you buy the upcoming Note 4 next week or so. Within the next 2-3 months, either Samsung (It's mother) will release another phone that will outclass that, if not, there's Sony, LG, Motorola or another OEM that will replace what you just bought. I can still sell my Iphone 4s for $200 off e-bay. I can't even get my S3 to be sold for $100! It's not desperation, it's the damn truth.

This is a reply to post #29 Love your post, bro. It is full of exactly what I've been saying about some users here on PA. But let me straighten a few things out: 1. Apple is not desperate - people love ios and apple products and wothout trade-ins their products sell well - very well. 2. Apple does not force or dictate for carriers to do a trade in program - it's what carriers do on their own (next time ask someone at AT&T or Verizon who is sponsoring these trad-ins - it will surprise you - it's not Apple or the carrier). But carriers do it because they get to lock you into a 2 year contract - but they do it using Apple products because they have a very very high resale value no matter how old the iPhone is - I sold my 4.5 year old 3GS last year for $100 3. Many android phones ARE free and many are dirt cheap without a contract - that's a good thing - you do get what you pay for - but options are a great thing specially for a budget conscious consumer. 4. Arrives do not need permission to promote trade-ins for iPhones - (they have to follow some rules) but carriers can use a product to entice people to sign a new contract and they will use the most popular phone to do it - iPhone is very popular and that's why you see promotions like this for iPhones most of the time. 5. Apple users may have bashed large screens (I heard them all) and there are a very high percentage that prefer the 4" screen (I'm one of them) - but don't confuse Apple with people who buy Apple products - Apple said that iphone (when it was 3.5 - 4" screen) said it was best size for one handed use - and that's still true. And also at that time most apps and games were not that sophisticated as they are today with all the extra tools and detail. 6. New iPhones do not bend like tinfoil - anyone can go into the strore and actually play with on - they're well built and are quite sturdy and out of nearly 20 million sold - there should have been a major outcry of all ipjone owners by now - in beginning to think it was a bad batch - or maybe folks are just more careful. The future will tell. 7 "facts are facts". Dude you haven't posted one fact - just rumbling of someone who admiringly hates Apple and its consumers for no reason. Bottom line iPhone 5s can sell for $500 - trading it in would be a lazy move - you can sell it on eBay, use $200 to buy a new ip6 and profit $300. That's why carriers take in trade-ins: they make more money from Old iPhones + new contract. 8. So, I bought an iPhone, wondering what it was that I did by buying an iPhone that makes you hate me? Did I spend your money? Did Apple inc, unplug your refrigerator so your food spoil? Did an apple user slash your tires? What is your reason to HATE Apple or Apple users that u never met?

"Facts are facts" which your post lacks just rhetoric, Re #8 is a specious, and "introduced" when there is no answer Benchmarks in themselves do NOT add features, the iPhone6 has NO Sapphire as "promised" it has lost Gorilla glass protection and now is just shatterproof glass iPhone 6 is NOT water or Dust proof (IP67 certified - dust and water resistant) THIS & THAT is better than either this or that Android phone have never bragged about being better in everything, just MOST thing, so having features NOT on an iPhone is "no contest" Apple pay is a gimmick, and NOT a phone related feature added in 2 years if you ALREADY have cash or credit / debit card or cheque I am sure that ALL establishments that accept Apple Pay will accept one or all of the other payment methods also. as you NEED both a "card" and a NFC terminal for Apple pay to work. Having Apple pay in an establishment that does NOT accept Apple pay is...... As Apple pay is NOT new technology in essence all those people who in 2012 were contracted to the iPhone5 have NOT upgraded but signed up for a larger display iPhone 5. 2 years later the exact same phone but bigger http://www.phonearena.com/phones/compare/Apple-iPhone-5,Apple-iPhone-6/phones/7378,8346 Apple Pay the biggest NON PHONE GIMMICK of this decade, if you do NOT have a credit / debit card then you may be able to recreate Apple Pay by using CASH / Cheque/ Money Transfer or magic beans. Apple pay is a money stream. Apple receives 15c per transaction, NFC (Not for Charity) It has already been stated the iPhone6 or 6+ is the phone you upgrade to after 2 years on contract on the Iphone 5 (Take away Apple pay and all you have is a larger display iPhone5. So again 4 years same specs you have bought EXACTLY the same phone You are NOT seriously stating that the iPhone6 is a significant upgrade to the iPhone it is NOT For some strange reason, there are people who think that paying a high price gives you a premium product it does not. Leave opinion aside, you have the comparison. comment on that many people like me DON'T hate Apple products, we wonder why any one would pay out such huge sums for "old tech" Why would somebody invest half the amount for a smart watch, when some Gyms have this tech in the exercise equipment. It will come as a surprise to some if they saw the iphone5 / iphone6 comparison

Oh boy. You actually have no idea what you're talking about. I worked for Best Buy for years. Best Buy and Apple and all the carriers trade and recycle phones through a company called Brightstar and they determine the values of phones. So right now you can trade in an iPhone 4 at Verizon and get $200 making the iPhone 6 free. At an Apple Store that same iphone 4 is worth $60. Why? Because the carriers and other retailers have decided to subsidize the difference in order to lure customers to their carrier or their store. Why don't the Apple stores do that? Because they don't have to. They don't care where you buy the phone just as long as you do. Which brings us back to the point. No carrier or retailer offers the same trade in deals for Androids because it isn't a cost effective business move for them to do so. The ASP's of Android phones keeps coming down which means the profit is diminishing as Samsung just noted with their missed earnings for the quarter. So why eat into already dwindling margins for a phone with little value who attracts less customers? Because as we all know, yes Samsung sells more phones than Apple but Apple sells more iPhones than the Galaxy series of phones which, along with the Note, is where they money is for them.

I've said this about 3 months ago. Apple needed the big phone for launch. Now that they did this...Expect 100 million sold total by end of this year. Roughly another 100-125 million by the release of the 6S or 7. That makes about 200-225 million. I will on the record and say that they will reach 250 million.

Lol, fake insiders making enormous estimates on the distribution figures of the iPhones, because they're iPhones. This isn't surprising, but hardly realistic. Apple's single biggest and most profitable market can't carry them that far, that fast.

Which device broke the record? 6 or 6 plus? it;s like saying samsung broke a new record selling galaxy s4 and galaxy note 3 combined. Stupid marketing. if there was only one device sales would be less for the first weekend.
