Apple takes on Netflix and cable with TV+ streaming service, Oprah show

New Apple TV app in May, available on iOS, Mac, Roku, and smart TVs, will offer one-click HBO, Hulu, etc. signups, folding your current TV subscriptions and iTunes purchases as well. A streaming TV+ video service in the fall will tack on Apple-original movies and series, headlined by an Oprah show, for a price and media bundles to be announced at a later date.

Do they pump in all the cheering and clapping? I have to ask because that was awful. I'm not excited about a single thing from that event.

The credit card with no fees except interest was the most intriguing part... But I can find that just about anywhere.

Too bad your credit score won’t allow you to get one of those cards ;)

With interest fees as high as 22.5% they don't need to charge anymore fees. They well be making hand over fist on dumb north Americans who only know how to overspend.

Yea apple can suck it they need to learn how to make a decent phone , instead of trying reinvent dying media. Nobody is going buy this crap Tim Apple , nobody buys it now. All this crap is already available, and nobody wants it.

Wasn't Steven Spielberg trying to get Netflix barred from winning Oscars 3 weeks ago? Well played Steven....well played.

That carplay live stream was indicative of the type of quality programming you're going to get.

The whole thing was meh. Probably one of the worst apple events I have seen. No costs and nothing innovative. Oh boy a tv app that lets you watch stuff from other apps. The credit card is meh unless you carry a balance it may have a low interest rate but the rewards blow. Do we need yet another streaming service? Whole thing was a money grab. More monthly fees hard pass

"Oh boy a tv app that lets you watch stuff from other apps." This is great, i hate opening different apps to Watch different content, of course i would take one place instead. I think everyone would? I mean why not?

You can already do this with Amazon Fire TV Stick, I have one, it has Netflix, Spotify, YouTube, etc.

Don’t worry he knows it, but he’s too delusional to say it.

" i hate opening different apps to Watch different content" That is what your phone is already doing. Instead, you have to open your smartphone, open TV+ and open the app that you want to stream. Genius... not!

I agree and many ways Netflix has lost its edge. I agree with Apple on building its library through other apps into one.

Even my comcast box does this. I can even say the name of the show into the remote and it runs the show just like it is on xfinity. This is nothing revolutionary like Apple wants you to believe. Heck even the apple TV does most of this stuff now. I even have a iphone and today's event was a big yawn. All I got out of today's event was here are a bunch of things you don't need that cost a monthly fee.

It's almost as of Apple doesn't want you to use any other product or service but their own. Imagine that.

What you mean by that? Their new video service was all about 3rd content and they want you to use other services, but just want to make it better for you to offer it all in same place without opening different apps over and over again.

Some of us still like to think for ourselves. It’s a strange concept, I know.

How can you not see that it's just another play to pull you deeper into Apple's ecosystem? Because it's cross platform or do you need an Apple device to use it? Don't worry, you won't have to give up your iMessage and all the other i features.

I'm confused here. Is this streaming service compatible with every device or just select like ios?
