Apple Music's Android app expected to launch soon (UPDATE: Screenshots leak)

When word came out earlier this year that Apple Music would be available to Android users via an app posted in the Google Play Store, some Android users were excited about the historical significance of such an app. After all, it would be just the second app built by Apple that was earmarked for Android users. The other app was designed to help those switching to an iPhone from an Android handset, move their content to iOS from Android...

And I'm expecting this app to get the same treatment as Move To iOS..

lol, it's going to get an incredibly low user rating. Honestly though, I think that people should not be able to rate an app unless they've actually downloaded it.

You SheepDroids can be so proud of yourselves then.

umm.... I just made a comment that would imply that Apple's app is unfairly being rated and that measures need to be taken to limit ratings to those who have actually have actual experience with the software, and you call me a sheep?

Oh, hey, you're right, I had never even bothered to try. I knew you could rate videos and music that you haven't downloaded from Google Play but those can be experienced outside of the Google Play store so it makes sense.

so Apple haters got too much spare time to download an app, rate it and then write hateful comments

lol, I was thinking the same thing actually, but as BobbyBuster has proven time and time again, some people have no life.

If you hit install then the X straight after, you can then rate it. So no need to download or install any app to rate an app ;)

What about Apple adding face time, or other Apple apps on Android. Who am I kidding, that will never happen with Apple.

Apple should release facetime and other Apple apps on Android as well.

It won't get the same treatment. A music app is different from an app who's sole purpose is to move Android users to a rival platform. I'm very indifferent toward Apple and I was thinking about signing up for Apple Music on Android but they may have waited too late. Play Music will soon offer a family plan and YouTube Red. It's a better deal.

That's definitely not a fight Google wants to pick. Apple allows Google services onto their devices, even though none of them make any pretense of adhering to Apple design guidelines. If Google decided to stop an Apple app from hitting the Play Store, Apple could just remove Google's services from the App Store, which would hurt Google a lot more than Apple Music not being on the Play Store would hurt Apple.
