Apple CEO Tim Cook took home $10.3 million in 2015

Apple CEO Tim Cook had an interesting 2015. In April, the company launched its first major new device since the release of the Apple iPad in 2010, the Apple Watch. Speaking about the iPad, the company also released the Apple iPad Pro with a 12.9-inch screen, and the Apple iPhone 6s and Apple iPhone 6s Plus hit global markets with 3D Touch...

Awww... Poor Timmy... His predecessor was BILLIONAIRE so it's peanuts compared to 10 BILLIONS or something! His boyfriend won't be happy about it...

He doesn't even deserve what he got, Jobs was a genius, Cook is just keeping the company alive, he really doesn't take the risks or invent anything new and with him being a head of Apple everything got worse IMO I wouldn't mind if Jobs earned bilions right now, same goes for Gates, but Cook...meh

Wait what? It is Tim who went against what was a ritual or religion in Apple. He is the guy that changed many things in Apple. He is open minded when it comes to competition, unlike Steve. If Jobs was alive, iPhones would still be rocking 3.5" screens, low MP cameras, without loads of features that were inspired or copied from Android or Windows.

Bro I can't believe he even typed that post.

Care to elaborate DarkJedi? I completely agree with his post. Tim Cook has barely done anything. Not to say he won't or hasn't done anything, but it doesn't even remotely touch what Steve Jobs' did for Apple. People seem to forget that Apple's success was set to continue after Jobs passed away, no matter who Jobs' successor would be. I along with many others took Steve Jobs for granted.

Is there a reason you are being rude Darkjedi? Why even comment in the first place? I simply asked you to elaborate your stance on the subject debate. This is a tech blog, and people are here to discuss tech. Why comment in the first place if you are unwilling to potentially explain yourself? So, I'll ask you again to please elaborate on why you "can't believe [Wiencon] even typed that post?" At the end of the day it's nothing personal, but it's safe to say that you can't elaborate if you're unwilling to respond, although you should be willing to respond since you were quick to shut down Wiencons post in a rude manner.

Not being rude at all, simply don't care to elaborate. I commented cause it's my right to do so bro. Trolls come here, and relentlessly dog Apple, cause they have the right...right? I have the right to not get into pointless debates. I have my thoughts, you have yours, and it's business as usual. I don't come to this site to argue, and engage in silly stuff bro. Trying to bait me won't work, just ask TechieXP and hexa-core.

If it's a pointless/silly debate, why did you comment in the first place? Next time, if you're going to comment, be willing to elaborate, bro. I couldn't care less of what techie and Hexa do, or about baiting you.

Totally agreed. While Steve Jobs was a complete jackass, he had great talent for seeing ahead of curve what consumers will want. I doubt Cook has that kind of talent, and he hasn't shown anything so far in this regard. Cook is mostly a logistics guy.

People on this site will never give this guy any credit, let alone stop their blind hate for Apple. I for myself, dislike Apple in so many way, yet I went and bought(with your help) an iPad Mini 3, tried it, accepted and appreciated iOS a whole lot more than I ever did, but switched back to android with the Tab S 8.4. Majority of people just love to hate, for them it's either Samsung or none, Apple or none, Sony or none, etc... I ll end with this, if Tim doesn't deserve this bonus, Apple wouldn't give it to him, not you or me do know better than those behind the richest company on this planet.

Exactly bro, that's why I don't even bother responding to them. It's useless, and pointless. The man knows what he's doing, and had taken Apple in a direction Jobs never would've.

What's pointless is telling someone their post is stupid and failing to elaborate mate.

"Majority of people just love to hate, for them it's either Samsung or none, Apple or none, Sony or none, etc..." That's a very incorrect assessment of people on this site. People, like me, just see far less interesting products in development for Apple. It doesn't suggest that people hate Apple because there is room for improvement. I myself own a Macbook Pro 15, an iPhone 6, and iPad Air 2, and an iMac. I am not saying I hate the company because II state that Tim Cook can do a better job with introducing a pipeline of products more consumers would be interested to buy. If anything, it makes me completely unbiased. But as an outside consumer, it is completely okay for me not to think Cook is doing everything he can to keep Apple ahead. Now, I have no beef with you maherk, because I know you are also simply a fan of tech. But I just want to make it apparent that I don't critisize to hate. I critisize because I want to see Apple be even more successful.

What is success? Short term maximization of profit or domination of market? Given choice, Apple will always choose maximizing short term profit over market domination. Google did something interesting with Android, taking opposite approach to Apple, and it appears their bet is playing out in their favor.

It's a tough place to be, defending in general. People only remember your last comment, regardless of what tech you are using at the moment. I've had more Android phones than iPhones, and nearly as many Windows Phones and Blackberries as iPhones. I bounce around a lot, and I have a lot of money invested in each ecosystem, but at the end of the day, I own Macs and Apple TVs, so I usually go back to an iPhone. Each OEM and each ecosystem has strengths and weaknesses, but lord help you if you try to tell some of the diehards on here that.

We must be completely honest: Tim Cook isn't doing jack s**t Coming out of the Jobs transition made him look good as the Company released hundreds of ideas that WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED under Steve Jobs' leadership. This lead to rapid growth and expansion. However, this short term growth isn't sustainable as they just are scrambling with half assed products, such as: Macbook, Apple Watch, latest iPhones, Mac Pro,and the iPad Pro. There is a reason Apple stock is tanking. Here's the problem: we have not seen one innovative product since Jobs left. There is literally not one item I'd even consider. I know I hate on Apple a lot, but no one can deny the work Steve Jobs put in. Tim Cook has the company on death row.

Say what? The two greatest fiscal quarters in business history belong to Apple under Tim Cook. Let that sink in: ALL businesses, since fiscal quarters have been recorded, have never had better than Tim Cook's second-best business quarter, and those quarters came 4 years after Steve Jobs died. To say he has done nothing is remarkably myopic and demonstrates a poor understanding of business.

Honestly, that's nothing compared to what other CEO's make of very large cap corporations. Lowell McAdams made $18.3 million last year, AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson made $20.2 million and the troll ceo of the carrier world John Legere made a reported $23.24 million. There were other corporations that pay even more, but those are relevant to our interests. Oh, and of course, Larry Page, the CEO of Google (Alphabet, actually) had a salary of $1.

The difference with Tim Cook is that he is for a fact a Criminal. He illegally hypnotizes millions of sheep to sniff Apple's BuTT on the daily, for products that simply don't touch the competition. There is a reason that Apple's stock is way down. Trust in Apple is falling steadily, especially with innovation no where in sight.

That's what I thought, especially if the CFO made 25x that. I'm guessing Tim's got a nice chunk of stock though, and that more than makes up the difference.
