The AirPower is now officially Apple's longest-running vaporware

We keep our hopes high for the AirPower, but, 9 months after its announcement, it's still vaporware, and we hope that Apple is at least intending to price it with the eventual updated AirPods this fall, with an always-on Siri and W2 co-processor inside, which should come complete with a wireless charging case then, too. There is no shortage of options to pump electrons wirelessly through the glass backs of the iPhone 8, Plus and X, if you so desire, it's just that the real AirPower deal is still up in the air.

I laughed at "a pregnancy and counting"! That's really funny! I did actually forget about the AirPower. Apple failed here.

The thing is there is a ton of different and inexpensive wireless chargers that have been on the market for years. There is even furniture from Ikea, and lots of other stores that support wireless charging. So Apple would have to compete with all of them. Plus Apple is well known for overpricing their products. If anyone is looking for wireless charging gear. Then they haven't been looking.

Want to help me out with finding hardware that can charge my AirPods, Apple Watch, and iPhone all at the same time on one charging pad, with fast charging, while not mattering where I place these devices on the pad? You must know something I don't.

Lol, why so delusional? Even apple can't do that and won't, hence why they aren't even pretending to release that. The problem is they can't even get the wireless charging working right without destroying the battery. They're probably going to release it with the next iPhone after fixing the wireless charging in those new devices.

I wouldn't doubt Apple's cult-following customer base on account of one product delay...People are still dumb enough to pay retail for the 6S despite the planned obsolence of the batteries, remember?

I still don't get why Apple couldn't have just stuck with the Qi standard.

Isn't the voltage lower than that of the Android standard? It doesn't quickly charge the iPhone. It's just there just to be there.

So the mat is supposed to set itself apart from standard charging pads because it won't matter where the device(s) are sitting. So the larger conductive area and an Apple Logo sound like a mix for a monster price tag

If it’s so easy, why isn’t everyone doing it?

never said it was easy, just seems like it's more than what anyone needs. and they'll ask for more that what anyone should pay
