This is just a his thoughts, a prediction of what is happening behind closed doors, not fact. There is no official evidence that this is true. So take this artical as pure rumor.

No real surprise here. VZW will get the iphone, but in LTE 4G version. They are not going to go thru the nonsense att did. customers calling in for forced early upgrades. Why launch the iphone on VZW after all this time, only to be on the older network? VZW iphone will be here on 4G in the spring of 2011. This seems to make the most sense.

It's not as if once LTE gets launched, VZWs CDMA network will be obsolete. It will take at least another 2-3 years before LTE will be the new "blanket" of coverage, taking completely over from CDMA. I like the idea of an LTE iphone, but it will only be useful in a 30 or so markets, unless Apple makes it a dual CDMA/LTE. Call me crazy, but I still think a CDMA iPhone would still be very viable before LTE is standard.

Lol who cares.... the only reason AT&T isn't losing more subscribers is because of the iPhone. Let it open to Sprint and T-Mo. VZW has proven it doesn't need the iPhone.

Guys, open your eyes. It's obvious it isn't coming to other carriers. Many have hoped for a while, but I don't see it happening soon. These rumors have gone on for a while and raised potential hope, but it's always false. We should just stop creating more rumors and just wait for it to be announced. Eventually, in a month, another article will come out and talk about a verizon iPhone. Just rely on Google and forget about an iPhone till they themselves say something.

Of course it will be CDMA/LTE. The idea is that it will offer LTE in addition to CDMA.

umm not a single fact in this article and no one even knows how long or short the exclusivity contract is NO ONE because it has NEVER been told. Its a secret AT&T and apple both want. and who cares this is the summer of iphone killers. Evo, Samsung galaxy S, lg aloha, htc incredible, htc hd2 and others coming.

EFF YOU APPLE. VZW customers have waited long enough to get your phone, so just cut the crap and release it on Verizon already. No one likes AT&T's crappy 3G service, so just release it on Verizon now. I feel like this rumor always pops up and it seems credible, but then it is crushed because of some BS excuse from AT&T. Quit putting it off, and just release a Verizon iPhone. Everyone wants it to happen, so just do it.

Verizon customer are committed to the android, so let ATT have there iphone no big deal

I think in everyone's mind on Verizon, Droid is the best thing Verizon can do until the iPhone comes out. I think if the iPhone did come to Verizon, a lot of those Droid loyalists will quickly move over to a new device.

AGREE! ANDROID IN MY OPINION HAS A LEG UP ON APPLES OS, ALSO THE ANDROID DEVICES ARE "INCREDIBLE" THE ONLY WAY A iPHONE GETS FUN AND INTERESTING IS IF YOU JAILBREAK IT. THAT'S WACK B/C YOU VOID YOUR WARRANTY....DROID DOES!!!

In the last Month Android has grown from about 30k apps to around 50k apps and rising. What's so special about the iPhone, what can it do that Android devices can't do? Right now it runs on one of the smallest 3g networks and in a lot of places the network is getting over used so they're asking people to cut back on their data usage, hence their network isn't big enough. Another thing to think about is how much money Apple is missing out on by not having it's phone compatible with all 4 carriers.

I have to disagree with you saying crappy 3g. You have to remember that service always depends on where you live. I get great reception with 3g in my area and download speeds are much faster than Verizon around here. No dropped calls nor do I have any trouble connecting to the internet. There are probably places in the country where Verizon doesn't have good service and same goes for Att. Where I live, Att is good and Verizon is tolerable. It all depends on where you live.

Wasn't there a developer that came up with an app for the android market to browse good apps because 33% of them was junk or something? If you have mostly free apps in the market, the apps probably aren't that great as a whole. And there are some technical people who prefer android over iPhone even if it does come to Verizon, but the majority still think that the Droid is a shorter name for Android.

And how many iPhone's were sold before there were any talks about jailbraking? The numbers were still staggering.

Apple has no love for Slow-rizon wireless, the Ipad was the perfect example....!!!!

Wow, some people just don't have anything intellectual to say, but instead decide to post meaningless comments. @uncman100 - what's the percentage of iPhones, iPods, and ipads that are jail broken? Don't assume. Many people have absolutely no clue what jail breaking is. Also, considering how you talk about jail breaking, how many people root their google phones because they too aren't good enough? And if you do that, it also ruins your google warranty. @sellcell - really? Androids apps are increasing, bur so is their crappy selection. I can't find many useful apps on my nexus one. On an iPhone, it's nice to be able to edit pictures, view email easier, other high quality apps. Name a few 3D game on the Google Market? Oh, and were you one who was asked to cut back on your 3G use? Where do you get your facts from? You're comments are so biased and flawed, it makes people look stupid. We have freedom of speech, but it doesn't always have to be used. And apple missing out because they aren't on other carriers? Uh, not really. They pretty much created the game between everyone and are just laughing at how hard it is to roll out updates to all the different Android phones there are. At least they back their products up. Yes, iPhone 2G won't get an update, but it's been 3 years? That's understandable. How long has the G1 been out? Where's it's updates?

ok ... heres the thing your talking about updates for three to four different devices... that statement right there makes you sound foolish. the i phone is only one phone and all you fan boys seem to forget all the issues it had in the early stages. the android platform is quickly becoming a force to be recond with. there are multiple devices with different options made by different manufactures out there. people in this country want choice.. the fact of the matter is that no one wanted to be forced to go to att and some were and had to go back to vzw because att service blows shall i say donkey balls? excuse the pun, but your talking about one phone thats had numerous updates and been out for four years.. the android phoens are right on apples tail.. the only reason vzw wants anything to do with the i phone is to get back the customers they lost from not taking it three years ago. Apple would be retarded to keep the i phone from vzw, the money and exposure would be incredible...also excuse the pun...and if you want to talk apps...each market place has crap apps.. you just need to know where to find the good ones.. fart apps galore on the i phone .. so dont compare there.. its rediculous.. and no return policy with i tunes.. android is a platform with the cusotmer in mind.. which i dont know about you donkey dick .. is not a bad thing. im sick of all you apple fan boys flexing your jobs muscle around like you created the damn phone. ur just upset because there is not value to that piece of junk you carry around every day. its hard to belvie you say you have a nexus one and shit here and suck on jobs knob... why dont you put a job app in to be his bitch and get him lates everyday and shine his tennis shoes and iron his jeans lol i heard you know what size and brand his black turtle neck is too! haha droid does incredible does and soon .. the i phone will too.. its alll relative ... someday well all have choice and be able to buy whatever phone we desire... on any network... for now android is the only consumer friendly platform i want in my pocket and the only network i want it on is vzw.

Seems like at&t wouldn't want another company to get a bigger edge on them then VZW already does by losing exclusive rights to their hottest phone. So they are gonna do whatever it takes to keep it to themselves longer. If I was at&t and would have nothing to offer after the iphone goes to other carriers I would do whatever it takes to keep it there. but then again this is not backed up by any facts so we'll see.

It funny how whatever phone is on top it gets overrated, if android was on top someone would say it was overrated as well lol.

its not about being on top, its about being limited. iphone is overrated because there is nothing about it that deserves it to be #1. Sorry but 120,000 apps to do it for me either. 50,000 is more than enough to choose from. But just like there are iphone fanboys that leave to go to android phones, there will be android user that will go to use iphone. but only because of curiousity because there is nothing apple can do that android cant and better.

actualy, the iphone still hands down has the smoothest UI out there, best ecosystem, nicest design(from my eyes) and best quality of apps(though many are shite). How many times a day does your droid crash? My milestone crashes about once every 2 days and i know many others do too! How about the music player? the web browser? How come all these companies like HTC and samsung seem to be making phones that look EXACTLY like the iphone?? Cough.. nexus...cough. Updates on the iphone are the best through itunes as everyone gets it at the exact same time. My milestone is amazing to me cause its something other than an iphone. But to say the iphone isnt the best overall touchscreen smartphone is silly.

Call it what you want, but I have used multiple friend's iPhones at random points, and it's a great toy with it's host of fart machines, recipe finders and lightsaber apps, but when you take the actual PHONE into consideration, I can't really make a good judgement on it, because oh wait, what's that? oh, call dropped. Let me call you back on my Blackberry that can hold a signal.

So would you rather have something that looks nice and is limited or something that has more capabilities but may crash on you? And as far as crashing goes, do you really think that no iphone has problems? If that was indeed the case Apple and AT&T would tout that in their advertising. The other thing that bothers me with all of the people saying there are more iPhones and more apps in the app store. DUH! They have been in the game for 2-3 years longer than android so obviously they are behind. It doesn't take a genius to see that reasoning. Look at when some of these phones were released. The iPhone was released when the economy was 10-100 times better than it is now. The Moto Droid was released just before the reality of the current economy came to be in the public eye. Both had a huge advertising campaign before they launched. The Droid Incredible had no advertising campaign prior to launch (there first TV commercial appeared the day of launch and the handset was already sold out and the first internet banners came a day later) and CSRs at Verizon were saying the demand for the Incredible was 5-10 times that of the Moto Droid, without advertising. How many Apple iPhone commercials do you see per day? They advertise at least twice as much as other phones. The reason they are easy to use is they work just like an iPod, and tons of people have those so it's easy to migrate that knowledge to using the iPhone. It may have been the vest for awhille but the rest of the industry is catching up and no one or thing can stay on top forever.
