I have had absolutely no problems with my larger Lumia 1520. If you don't wear a jacket or bag, the only place to keep the phone is your pocket and your hand, and sometimes you need those hands for other purposes...

I've been putting flat, wide phones in my front pockets for years without issue. That's called normal use, not lack of common sense. A phone that doesn't bend in your front pocket is called proper engineering and build quality.

A phone in your front pocket should be just fine and has been......until the iPhone 6 Plus.

"it restricts walking and puts unnecessary strain on the phone." Your pants are to tight. Lol

This iPhone for posterity's sake, prioritized a slim profile over essential factors like a bigger battery capacity and non-protruding camera lens and now you're REQUIRED to place it in a case? With that thick ugly enclosure, you can no longer place it inside your jeans.

Phones today are thin and brittle. I just wish for a tough water resistant consumer grade. phone that doesn't need a case. This is a simple request which all manufactures fail to heed. FYI: S5 Active is a lousy pretender.

"Phones today are thin and brittle" No, not phones. SOME phones. Or more precisely iPhones. 90% of iPhone owners put their phone in a case. 90% of other phone owners use their devices without a case. This alone speaks volumes!

Unfortunately, this is not just an Apple problem. I am mountain biker and you cannot imagine how frustrated that I can't bring my current phones to my trails.

Why not special equipment, like an armband or similar...?

First we should all be glad we have different options. Not one phone manufacturer will can/will satisfy everyone. With all these different options it helps push innovation which is a good thing for us consumers. Now to address your point that phone owners outside of the iPhone don't use cases; 90% to be precise. I don't care what device it is and I'm also not sure what planet you're from, but almost everyone who has a smart phone I see with a carrying case on it. If you don't like the iPhone I completely understand and I would encourage you to buy what satisfy's you or meets your needs. But to make a statement as far stretched as yours is, makes no sense.

Well first they had that design with the glass back so drop your phone and not only does the screen shatter but the back of the phone does as well. Now they have a phone that can bend in your front pocket (normal area). Apple has "thin and brittle" phones.

lol you people talk about MKBHD as if he were the chosen one. a phone that bends in your pocket should be talked about.

No. The point of this is this story it is not as great as some people claim. If indeed this is, then Apple needs to address this issue. For now I'll wait and see how things will unfurl. As far as I am concern, I am a spectator. This will be fun watching fanboys fight and Apples PR machine working this crap out.

Most likely, we'll never know how this unfolds. Now that people know Apple will replace a bent phone, they will just take it in for a new one. Apple doesn't report replacements or reasons for replacement, and people don't complain to Apple or in forums if their phone gets replaced.

It is already happening. Sit back grab your snacks and enjoy the show. I hope this has the flare of antenagate or S4 exploding battery. "64. Thanks for this. The bending issue is one thing, whether overblown or not. No device will be perfect. However, I personally find Apple's response here more disturbing. It is heavy handed responses like that that keeps me from ever using an iphone. Makes me think Apple is more interested in their PR than constructively addressing the problem.

maybe that is why all, if not most, of these iphone reviewers are giving very high praise reviews. apple is dictating what reviewers say, and apple is dictating to carriers that they need to order this many iphones if they want to sell iphones, etc...its shtz like this is why apple is getting more sales than it should... but hopefully with all this bendgate and apple dropping the european tech magazine, that iphone sales will take a big hit this time around.

the point is, it is fckin expensive, it has to be durable. it is expected to be durable. because it is fckin expensive, why would you buy a multi million dollar house if you still have to reinforce the beams that supports the house?

Someone has already tried the bend test on the Note 4, and although it has metal frame, it didn't bend what so ever, not during nor after the test.

I've read an article about the Note4 having gaps down the side of the display big enough to stick two business cards in...let's hope they sort that out before the Global launch!!

Any time I hear co workers at work talking about the iPhone 6+ bending.....one even called the 6+ ugly....this might cause Apple some lost marketshare, future sales.

I was at a school board convention with my wife this weekend. 2 things. The Superintendent in my district who is an iPhone user actually brought the conversation up in a, "Hey did you guys hear that the new iPhone bends," manner. The second thing a board member, older woman, surprised a sales guy by choosing the LG G3 over the iPhone 6. Apple does have the sales number and these are small cases but eventually those chinks in the armor will catch up.
