Google has just released the first developer preview for the next version of Android: Android P. Probably the most interesting detail of Android P is that it concedes to the notch...

More like "ANDROID :P ". I hope Google with Pixel 3 or Samsung with Note 9 forces this trend to die by introducing a phone close to Vivo Apex, although I'm skeptical due to the amount of sensors a galaxy phone has on the front.

Google has always went from bad to worse when it comes to notifications. Did they just remove some notification space in order to make room for the notch ? Why not let users choose what to remove from the top bar ? I would rather remove the signal bar icon or battery level indicator if that would make room for more notifications.

From bad to worse? They only improved notifications since every version.

Good move Google. People are starting to demand phones that push screens to all of the edges the way Apple has done with the X. Android has to keep up and stay relevant.

Why when did Apple release an "all screen " phone? The X has a 4mm bezel around every edge and a huge chunk cut out at the top, that's far from "all screen".

"Dammit so many retards copying Essential Phone, I guess we have to make some cutout support in Android" - Google

Well...I think google had to do this. As Chinese OEM won’t stop making phones with notch.

Moments like this make me think we need a new OS or at least for Tizen to be an option in S devices
