Android 5.0 Lollipop vs iOS 8 UI comparison: vote for the better interface here!

The year is almost over and both Apple and Google have already treated us to the latest renditions of their mobile platforms - iOS 8 and Android 5.0 Lollipop, respectively. We got introduced to these versions of the platforms several months ago. First was Apple, which showcased its iOS 8 at WDDC 2014 in the beginning of June. Several weeks later, Google followed suit and highlighted the spic and span novelties that Android 5.0 Lollipop was about to introduce this autumn...

2 years ago same questionnaire you have listen IOS on top of Android in your questionnaire. Today Android is listen on top and it is telling: it is better and getting better faster than IOS. It is leading. With Samsung now leading in screen quality with their Super Amoled, Apple phones are 1 1/2 years generation behind Apple phones. I am surprise that they still sell so many phones. Apple fans probably never compared a Note 4 next to apple phone.

I'm not a fan of the way Android looks anymore. It used to look waaaay better. Not it just looks silly and robotic. I miss the smooth and Google look and feel when they first started. People are way too bias and silly on the internet. iOS looks waaaay better. Android has amazing functionality, but it needs to drop the robot look. Slap some MIUI on there at least.

they look so similar it`s scary. I couldn`t really decide they are so similar. They both need a dark theme though. Those light screen blinds the eyes.

You can appreciate the UI, when you use them with your own hand. You will see the animation effects, transitions, and interaction of UI. I used both iOS8 and Lollipop. Lollipop animation give me more impressions than iOS8. In color tunes/combination, iOS8 make you feel restless but Lollipop has a clean tunes. Anyway, I vote all for Lollipop except to camera.

10% of PhoneArena users have iPhones More than 25% of all OS users think iPhone is better. That's gotta say something.

seriously, this kind of polls between android vs. ios will always be 1-sided. i mean how many android users are there compared to ios users? more often than not, we'll support the other we of course utilize rather than those we do not. i for one uses both platforms and voted ios for its simplicity. just my two cents. so thanks PA for such as stupid one.

You are comparing an OS that needs 4GB Ram and quad core processors with an OS that only needs 1GB Ram and dual core. For me it is sufficient to say iOS is the BEST.

What's wrong in using 4 GB and quad core? Afterall they cost about same and battery life is great as well..

Lollipop clearly wins from the authors comments on each section except the camera. How then can you conclude there is no clear winner, there obviously is from the scope in which this article covers. Of course what is not mentioned, but makes the Android stand head and shoulders above IOS is the ability to customise in Android.

Even though I prefer iPhones, I voted for only the camera of iOS 8. Apple's design is getting a bit clunky; in my opinion, they should introduce subtle design changes with each iOS release, instead of keeping the exact same design for many generations.
