Analysts: Galaxy S8 may be selling slower than the S7 before it

Samsung's Galaxy S8 landed with the most radical design overhaul in the history of the Galaxy S series, a top-shelf camera, and numerous other enticements, but this may have not been enough for users to switch their current handsets. A new report cites Korean analysts from The Bell who claim that the S8 actually sells slower than the Galaxy S7 before it.

For me I have not purchased the S8 mainly because of the awkward fingers print placement.

Not gonna lie, It is awkward. After a month. I am still missing the mark. I am also accidentally hitting the Bixby button often enough for it to bug the heck out of me. Still, more positives than negatives. The location of the fingerprint scanner, though, should have been a no-brainer.

With Samsung copying the trend of Apple, thinking anything they make people will buy,but phones keep getting more expensive, not everyone can afford to buy a new phone every time a new one comes out,and contracts lasting over 24 months people do not always switch because a new one is released, with bixby not fully ready yet and the fingerprint placement by Samsung not in a good position plus the lose of the home button that galaxy phone users have got so use to using the S7 or S7 Edge will be more affordable now off ebay or other websites,Apple will be like this if they make the iPhone 8 too expensive

Should've make the regular s8 5.5" and the s8+ 6" with the same aspect and screen to body ratio. In other words, same height as last year's phones but 2-3 mm narrower. Stop with this bigger is better madness. Even female reproductive organs have their limits!!! Not to mention lots of folks don't like the curved screens, slippery glass non sense. Why do I need a glass back that is un-holdable without case??? Case adds thickness, so do it right from the begging - make it thicker with bigger battery and BlackBerry like non-slip back.

I have the S7 Edge, and while the S8 is a gorgeous device, I really saw no reason to Upgrade.

Others flagships of 2016 did not excited people. - G5 was an ugly phone. Mods failed because they were expensive and nothing easy to connect. - X Performance was a downgrade from Z5 ( except photos, storage, cpu and gpu). Smaller battery, no 4K videos, hybrid slot, smaller screen. - Htc 10 : only a great sound Now we have Htc U11 and XZ Premium. Stronger competition against S8/S8+.

Meh, I don't think Samsung fans really care. It's not like the isheep that like to brag about how much Apple is overcharging them. The GS2 was much better for it's time than the GS3 and the GS3 obliterated it in sales and I don't think Samsung has reached the GS3/GS4 peak yet. It's all good though, I buy their phones for the quality. not their popularity and the GS8 is their best phone since the GS2, with the GS6 coming close to those two.

High starting price of S8 and S8+ is also one of the factors for slow sale of these phones.......starting price of S8 and S8+ were definitely higher than S7 and S7 edge

No i don't think that was the reason tbh. Not with those crazy bogo deals going on right now.

With competition in the Android market getting stronger each year, this news is kinda not news, as it is a probability, already

im pretty sure the slow down in sales is due to the upcoming note 8...and not the new iphone as mentioned by iphoniearena LOL

I was so looking to buy the S8 when I had to give up my Note 7. However, there's hardly any improvements over the Note 7 or S7 besides the screen. Therefore I decided to wait for the Iphone 8 or Note 8. But the Note 8 doesn't seem much different too. So disappointing from Samsung.
