Analysts: Galaxy S8 may be selling slower than the S7 before it

Samsung's Galaxy S8 landed with the most radical design overhaul in the history of the Galaxy S series, a top-shelf camera, and numerous other enticements, but this may have not been enough for users to switch their current handsets. A new report cites Korean analysts from The Bell who claim that the S8 actually sells slower than the Galaxy S7 before it.

S8 will sell much less than S7 no matter whatever bull$hit their executives or fanboys say. Even with their new flagship they failed to stop Apple's success in selling iPhone 7 which has oldish type design and worse camera than S8. IMO there are two reason for these to happen - 1. Note 7 incident dented Samsung reputation much worse than they predicted. 2. S8 is not an appealing product for S7 users. There is hardly any reason for them to upgrade to new S8 but you wouldn't know about it if you read the comments here. In here troops from samsung defense forces act like S8 is a must buy for everyone. LOL. What is really funny is that with each year declining flagship phone sells Samsung defense force and their lapdog are acting desperate than ever. All the effort they put to defend samsung and insult Apple/Apple user fail to improve their favorite company's flagship phones. What a failure they are. Try harder. GANBARE SDF ( Samsung Defense Force ).

I'm in the second point too. Lack of features like worldwide 6 GB ram option and expensive price at launch compared with S7 edge. I'll wait Samsung don't make same mistakes with Note 8

S8/S8+ is dead on arrival. The hype was very short lived due to lack of proper innovation, insanely high prices and strong competition than on 2016. I don't think this analyst here is so stupid to count only S8 sales (even though they said S8 VS S7), I think they meant both S8 and S8+ vs s7 and S7 Edge. From various sources their point has been proven as of now which is S8 was a failure compared to S7.

Doesn't matter, if Samsung is doing badly, another Android OEM will take up and sales and push competition and innovation. Meanwhile, iFans will get the same phone again for a 4th year and the tech media will quote lines like "the only thing that's changed is everything" or whatever they were fed. Apple sales have also been declining for the past 6 quarters and garbage like this article are usually run by companies with a lot of skin in the Apple stock game. Samsung is also losing out now and the consumer is winning.

Perhalf the flat screen on the S7 is still a strong sale. S8 is all curve.

No surprise here. Until Samsung fixes performance and UI stutter, their phones will continue to sell poorly.

whent from s7 edge to OP5 and the UI and sofware exparience is waaay diffrent, you don`t notice the lag/stutters from samsung until you get a well optimized OS phone! will never go back to samsung unless they tone the UI down and get ridd of all the stutters/lag

This what they'll never understand. Watch them lie how they have both samsung, apple and windows phones. They'll tell u how they never notice it and how it still works like day one. Lol. The funny thing is that other android phones hardly have this problem.

It's not like there was anything really new with these latest handsets from Samsung. Only the new display, everything else was just a minor update.

Yeah, a bigger S7e without a home button, a worse battery life, a lolxby button, an ugly ass inconvenient rear fps, and same camera.

Maybe if they gave choices to their customers and made a flat version and made the Bixby button remappable then it won't decline in sales.

Are you and ted going to submit your resumes? Yes I'm sure the jobs will be a big cut in salary from what you two earn now, but here's a chance to join Samsung and put Apple out of business!
