Wow...that's more than Samsung has sold of the S8's and Notes. LOL!

Why does that matter... Android is a multi-manufacturer OS. It would be really bad if a single Android product line outsold iOS as a platform. only thing comparable is OS to OS even that is a faulty comparison due to price ranges make one more accessible .

"Why does that matter..." You wouldn't have asked this question if it didn't matter lol.

It does matter though, he brought up a legit argument to the fact that each Android flagship is fighting with at least 20 other flagships for the top spot, where the iPhone has no competition within the ecosystem and platform it's running on. It's just amusing that you attack android trolls, but go on to defend Apple trolls and join their trolling forces simply because they go along with your fanboyism.

Let's get something straight off jump: nobody buys ANY of these Android flagships without a Samsung logo on it. Of the premium market, Apple controls 80%, and Samsung 15%, leaving 5% for the rest to fight for. Saying ANY of these "other Android flagships" are competition for the Samsung Galaxy series or iPhone in terms of consumer interests is beyond disingenuous. Borderline laughable. Next, I just called OP (one of those so called Apple trolls... btw) an idiot for saying the S8 duo hadn't sold more than 15 million, what more do you want from me? My response to the second poster was simply a retort to an obviously loaded statement. Had this been an article about some other brand of phone, he wouldn't have started his reply off that way at all and you know that.

It was meant as joke...but you will get many people defending Apple and Android. When it comes to phones I know just about all of the features on Android devices as well as Apple devices...

1- Going by your numbers, for every 3 S8/S8+ or Note 8 sold, another premium Android flagship is also sold. 2- Premium market doesn't include sub 500 dollars flagships that are making a significant impact on more expensive Android flagships. Now don't tell me that Apple doesn't have a big soft cushion to rest on when selling their premium iPhones, compared to the situation Samsung and almost every other Android OEM. That's why Apple can release the same phone for 4 straight years only with minor tweaks, yet bumping the price without having any impact on their sales. Anyways, I do hope the X did outsold the S8, as I don't want Samsung to play it safe with the S9.

So what Apple has to fight all those android manufactures. Android should be not counted. That’s googles deal. Not Samsung. Apple make the phone and the OS then android manufacture just have to put googles android on it and even with that they take forever to add their bloatware. The only phone that really companies toe to toe with Apple is the pixel. But if the point is to justify any way to discredit apples accomplishments than I think you sound a little jealous. And that is weird. It’s just phones. I like both os and appreciate all tech.

Why are you so butt hurt? You say iPhone has no competition now but then why calling Apple fans Apple sheep then?? People have the choice of selecting any smartphone they want in the market and they choose iPhone most of the time. Yes Samsung hasn't sold S8 more than 15 million as of now, if you say otherwise just provide evidence. All these sales are assumptions by accredited analysts and they know better than you and me.

Do you own an LG, Samsung, Motorola, Huawei, OnePlus, HTC, etc...all at the same time? Regardless of how many Android vendors are available you are only using one phone. You should only care about market share, performance, sales, of your Android phone and ecosystem. Android is a sum of its parts and not whole. Remember that... Apple could care less of how many Android vendors that are made available. They are still growing nationally and internationally.

So your admittedly saying that the only way iPhones can be compared to is that they have to be compared to every android handset as a whole. It kind of is based off of phone to phone sales. Yes you can compare os to os but that would be a google to Apple thing not Samsung or other android phone manufacturers.

Where did you pull such a fact from? Oh yeah, your ass, as always.

He's wrong about the S8 duo (because of course they've sold more than 15 million in 7+ months, anyone who says otherwise is an idiot) but the Note 8 has sold nowhere near that numerical value. However, you could say that is to be expected, as the Note brand is the definition of a niche market value buy.

We need numbers and facts, not assumptions.

Neither of those statements are "assumptions".

S8: https://www.phonearena.com/news/Report-Samsung-has-shipped-more-than-20-million-Galaxy-S8S8-units-so-far_id96668 Reported total shipped in August. Unless they've discontinued selling the products, they've almost certainly exceeded the amount OP stated. As for the Note 8, can't really find any concrete numbers, but the estimated sales number (per product cycle) given by an analyst 12 million. Up from the 8.5 million Note 5s sold, but nowhere near 15, and assuredly not in the short span of time the Note 8 has been out.

Again, you're going with assumptions. These are estimates done by "analysts", so I think it's better wait till Samsung release their official numbers, if they ever do that.

Samsung hasn't released "official" numbers for their phone sales in quite a while. They likely never will now that Apple has ceased also.

I know that, and that's why I stay away from reports assuming stuff.

The current figures for iphone X are also given by analyst and not by apple officially

"Reported total shipped in August" And now it's 3 months later and with black Friday in there and cyber Monday.

I mean... I was arguing in favor of Samsung there. I literally said of course they'd sold MORE than 15 million S8 units.

Where is evidence saying S8 duo sold more than 15 million units as of now?? Don't be an android sheep.

interesting. Everywhere the IPhone 8 was sold out this weekend (where I shopped) and the IPhone x is selling well. Boy was I ever wrong. I figured one would suffer under the demand for the other. I went with the Note 8, but can't fault those that took up the IPhone x, it looks amazing!

It is the best iPhone to date and one of the best phones for the year. If the iPhone 6s and 7 were breaking records, the iPhone X setting new records in terms of sale won't surprise me.
