Kinda strange seeing as how my 4s is already worth more than an sgs3...it holds it's value just fine.

i don't say that every android phone offers great value for money.......if u want a good phone and cheap price, then its the galaxy nexus........a samsung galaxy phone with good support of google......

nexus offers more value for money....but iphones have a great resale values.....i buy the unlocked iphone from the usa and after using it for a year, i sell it for the same price on in places like sri lanka(you can do that online)......iphone costs around $849 over there so they buy the second hand iphone for $649......you will get back all the $649 that you paid for the iphone

People are clever, they know Apple would not sue if SS's product were bad. So even if SS can't overturn the verdict they can still take it as a good promotion campaign.

Good for Samsung. If the verdict gets overturned, so much the better!

I can't be the only that noticed the number of stores asked. 5 Sprint, 3 Verizon, and 3 Costcos. Wow really?!?! And also, I'm pretty sure the GSIII was doing pretty well to begin with, how much "significant" are we talking about? And I hope most of those people didn't rush and buy the phone mainly because it was going to be banned. Seems a little impulsive.

it could be coincidence... it could be fear of a ban even though the SGS3 wasnt part of the trial... or it could be people wanting to support Samsung in the face of a bully. hard to tell. I'd like to believe people are rallying, so I choose option 3 :)

True. Noticeably, the GS3 wasn't even involved in the case. Latest device I can remember seeing on it was the Galaxy S2 Skyrocket

I can tell you doesnt mind at all if they did ....Samsung. lol. And these same ppl could have been on the jury for the case...thats why I agree with Judge Posner. No patent case should go before a jury. It should be patent experts involved in patent cases. Its too much technical wording involved. The GS3 wasnt even involved in the case.....but most ppl didnt know. All they knew was Samsung lost the case. Another thing to look at....if these ppl thought it was gonna get banned.....shows ppl were gonna buy it anyway. And never planned on getting an iPhone.

All I'm saying was the GSIII was selling like hot cakes before even before the case. Some of us have the tendency to create a story out of nothing to make us feel better. Why did the so called "analyst" go visit stores (only 10 so lame) in the first place? He wanted a story and he got it. What does he mean by sales were "significant?" Are we assuming that the iPhone 4S was outselling the GSIII before the case? Things to think about. It seems like this "analyst" was a random Samsung fan hoping the rest of the world was feeling the same disappointment as he was and was determined to show it. But let's pretend the analyst was right and sales increased because of fear of ban. If people were going to buy the SGIII anyway, what were they waiting for? Obviously there was something keeping them from buying the phone earlier because why would you wait weeks or months if you already know the perfect phone? they could have been waiting for other Android devices like the next Nexus, Note II, info on the iPhone 5, cheaper prices/different colors, etc etc. So no, it doesn't show that people were going to buy it anyway. That's why I said rushing to buy a phone because of ban despite all your reasons for waiting is not necessarily a bad decision, but kind of impulsive and you may or may not regret it.

they better sale to make up for the 1 billion they have to pay... but how did Samsung win, if Apple just made 1 billion dollars with just a napkin and charming smile

They won because 1) It cost them only 1 billion to "copy" Apple, get to the top and now make their original products with the ground they "stole". If Samsung had agreed to Apple's greedy demand of $30 per phone and $40 per tablet, it would have cost them alot more than 1bil. 2) People now see "Wait, so Samsung copied Apple? So they must be the same? But why I Samsung's cheaper?"

Don't you think they won bcos the consumer chose Samsung instead of Apple? In my own opinion, it's not what the court says, its what the consumer say. After all they are the ones Samsung is selling the product to. I think Apple is helping Samsung to market their products, cos people are not stupid, they are realizing that, if Apple is suing Samsung, it means there is something good and better about Samsung than Apple. Just as much as Apple think people are stupid to buy Samsung Galaxy S thinking its an iPhone or Tab thinking its an iPad, well unfortunately people are not that stupid. Just saying. I'm still gonna get me an iPhone 5 irrespective of the specs, and Samsung Galaxy Note 2 when they come out. But I think Samsung won, bcos we the consumer sided with them. Period. Even I the iFan was hoping Samsung will win, since they do innovate, true story (im sure my fellow ifans will hate this, but let the truth be told)

I actually used a galaxy s1 for a while although it doesn't look exactly the same like those Chinese iPhone clones but it's quite similar to the iPhone . The design and the icons and how touchwiz 3.0 feels like an iOS ripoff . Honestly sense of that time (sense 2.1 ) is better than touchwiz 3.0

so if the iphone 5 breaks sales records will you then admitt Apple won based on your analogy?

Nope, he'll say brainwashed fans will buy anything Apple releases.

Every iPhone has outsold the previous one.....so to me it would be nothing special. With one new phone each release....it would be news if it didnt break records.

Very good point SlimSoulja86. i agree with you. apple helping to market Samsung phones. This lawsuit is 1 billion advert for Samsung. Just because Apple is suing them, they are bringing them forward and into the light with them. Nokia and HTC might have good products as well but their name does not play such a big role in your brain as when you hear Samsung. When you hear Samsung the Apple comes into your mind at the same time. You thinking - Apple - very good superior product, and Samsung their competition. So Samsung is at the same level as Apple. But when you hear Nokia or HTC you dont compare it to anything, therefore you see them in their own category. Not saying they are not great. I hope you understand my point even though I might not explain my self properly, before thumbing me down :)

I agree. Samsung does innovate. See...many Apple fanboys claim they dont. But...last time I checked, Samsung displays were among the best on mobile phones. And I wont even get into how they innovate ob the TV side of things... Samsung must do something right....most of the parts in iDevices are connected with Samsung.

That's what happens when you try to stiffle growth and competion, it comes back to bite you in the a(pple)$$. ;) Besides by the time the i5 arrives, the Note II will be on show, so let the battle begin.
