Yup, after that retarded macbook "pro" reveal, it's pretty much a given.

That was sarcasm dude. BTW, every cellphone "peaks" at around the same time, 1.5-2 months.

His sarcasm detector needs some fixin' LOL Though I would agree with him that the new MacBook "Pro"s are crap, except the 15" one.

True that.... but I was never a "Mac" kinda guy anyway.

I don't even like Apple. Just iPhones and iOS! Apple was much more admirable under SJ, with Tim Cook I lost all interest with Apple future. The alternatives are good enough - if Apple goes down, I wouldn't cry over it. Deep inside for the past couple of years I always wanted to see what Apple would do if they hit a consistent down-trend, but under Tim Cook I'm not that optimistic that Apple will impress. As long as they still making devices that work for me best - I'll keep buying, if anything supersedes iPhones - I'll switch. But yes, I was being sarcastic in my first post.

SJ was a "rah" kinda dude. A lot like how Elon Musk is now, when Steve said something about tech, it was fascinating. Tim isn't that dude though..... he's a logistical tyrant. That may make him plain, but he's really great at it. That's why I know Apple isn't going anywhere.... he's too good at maximizing margins to let it happen under his watch. Having said all that, it's not as exciting as when Steve was at the helm, no question.

The 15" costs 400$ more. I would call that outrageous. Touch bar is a gimmick and increasing cost just because they can is a thing I will never support. Also, 256GB storage in a 2400$ device! Not to mention the garbage GPU.

13. AlikMalix unregistered

I guess the product that Apple is selling isn't for you - I'm very sorry that you're forced to buy it.

19. Tyrion_Lannister unregistered

I'm not forced to buy it. I'll buy something like the Razor blade 2016( or the stealth ) and put Ubuntu on it.

22. AlikMalix unregistered

Tyrion, you missed my point. If you see better value FOR YOU somewhere else - by all means, buy that. Some find value in apples laptops (not me), but look at even googles conference or keynotes, or their campus - macs, macs, and more macs!!!

23. Tyrion_Lannister unregistered

There is a reason for that. Till last year, windows laptops sucked. They were thick, clunky, their battery life sucked and industrial design was a plastic black box. It's now only that we are getting some good windows laptops like the XPS 13 and Razor blade. I have been in the macbook community for far too long to remember. Mac OS is superior to windows for development, period. It's not even a contest, not a close one at least. That's why Google employees or Apple employees use it. Also they get macbooks from the company itself. Who denies free laptops? However, this seems to be changing this year. Windows is still no good for programming, but the hardware is there and you can install linux. I have seen a lot of users switching this year like me. See the reviews of macbook on ars technica or even the verge. Long time users are furious, and for the right reasons. The macbook era is over for good.

I don't own laptops - so I wouldn't argue. I guess it make sense from what you said. Thanks for the reply.

Not as outrageous as the $1799 dual-core, 8GB max RAM, intel HD 13" model. "PRO"

20. Tyrion_Lannister unregistered

You can configure the RAM to be 16GB, and the intel HD graphics should be just as good as the ones on the 15". Dual core processor sucks though. The 13" macbook pros have always been compromised. So it's fine with me. But doing this with 15" models is stupid. All I wanted was the same price tag(2000$) and 512GB storage for the base variant. Also an Nvidia GPU for CUDA acceleration, since I work in machine learning.

No you can't, the 13" model maxes out at 8GB.

27. Tyrion_Lannister unregistered

http://www.apple.com/macbook-pro/specs/ Check the RAM section. It says configurable to 16GB.

I see, I stand corrected, I remember watching LinusTechTip's WAN Show mentioning that the 13" one is only up to 8GB.

29. Tyrion_Lannister unregistered

He might have been correct since he is a Canadian. It depends on the country. For example, in US you can configure the RAM, but in my country you have to buy the 8GB version since there is no option to configure it.

still crap though. Cant believe apple go "dongle pro", I actually like their macbook line up but this year is disaster... touchbar is just gimmicky; as the verge stated "For all the complexity that the Touch Bar is capable of, its simplest uses are often its best." The trackpad handles everything so well and compared to MS innovation, this year Apple is really really "courageous".

They are good, but for price you pay, they suck. One without touch bar should have been priced $1000, with oled bar $1300 and 15 inch at $2000.

It's ok to be a fanboy, but so you have to be blind too? Here let me help you. The iPhone hasn't shown any advanced features. The camera on the iPhone 7, isn't even betterr than the one in the S6, no less the S7. The design was used for a 3rd time. Dame resolutions. They removed the headphone jack, and didn't even provide an afaltwr thatts you charge and listen at the same time. Instead they will met 3rd parties make the adaptwrs and just get their percentage from licensing fees. The operating hasn't changed since iPhone OS. Down Mal battery life for a phone with dual dual cores vs dual quad cores. One handed mode , 3D Touch wasn t really improved. The Apple Watch is a complete disaster and thst is why they've never announced sales. The new Mac has some stupid virtual toolbar, and they changes the lower cord yet again and also remove ports so you can't even charge your new iPhone 7. You have to. It a $2/ cavle. Wht Apple brags about seamless design and how their products seamlessly I twgrate with each other. But somehow seamless requires some stupo d adapters. And we know, Apple makes the coolesr adapters. And the removed the home button and headphone jack and only received an IP67 rating, while the Galaxy has both and still rated at IP68. And they claimed they removed the lack to make room for a bigger vibrator to act like a button, when they actually had a button. Then they polished black paint and didn't protect it from easily being scuffed or scratched. What even paint metal when you could have just used poly carbonate? IOS10 continues to crash apps. I open apps and many times a white screen appears. Why? Because Apple handicapped apps that haven't been updated to make them not work, when they were working before. The split screen on the iPad Pro is saggy and terrible. Why didn't it come with the pencil? Why are the speakers firing away from me? Why does an iPhone that cost $1000 still take 3 hours to charge? Why does an IPad still take all night to charge? Why don't Mac's have touchscreen? Why does the Surface Studio look so much better than the iMac? Why is the Surface Pro 4 a better tablet and laptop than the iPad Pro, when Apple claimed the Surface was good at. Either and yet the iPad is t good for...anytbong beyond kiddie games and video playback? Why is the iPad design exactly the same as the iPad 2? Why does the Apple Watch gave such terrible battery life when it doesn't have GPS, a modem, a smaller screen than most, no UV, and much more it doesn't have. Now, are you blind to those facts? Oh and the fact th3 sales have dropped in the last 3 quarters, compared to the same quarters a year ago? The iPhone is finally going to get what it deserves. Once Huawei, OPPO and other Chinese company s start selling lower costing iPhones running Android, the IPhone is going to be relegated to a small much of less than 25M sales per year. This will be open by 2020.

Get your friggen facts straight if you expect me to reply!! None of what you said is full truth or not over-exaggerated. it's irritating.

18. Tyrion_Lannister unregistered

Note:You're gonna love this reply. I have made the length long for your enjoyment. You'll feel what we feel. The iPhone has more advanced features than your beloved S7. Let me refresh your memory: 1. The fastest smartphone SoC by a landslide. 2. Using the earpiece as speaker( only 1 other phone does it) 3. Best video stabilization on any phone, period. 4. Only phone with color calibrated OS and who can use a wider than sRGB gamut and still be accurate. 5. Taptic engine. 6. 1080p@120 fps. 7. The fastest storage solution on any device in existence. And hence wins every speedtest on the internet. 8. Can retain more apps in memory with 3GB of RAM than androids can. Now, for your other questions: "IOS10 continues to crash apps. I open apps and many times a white screen appears. Why? Because Apple handicapped apps that haven't been updated to make them not work, when they were working before." Never happened to my iPad air 2. "The split screen on the iPad Pro is saggy and terrible. Why didn't it come with the pencil? Why are the speakers firing away from me?" The split screen on iPad is the only implementation that runs at a smooth 60 fps and looks good. The speakers don't face away from you. They fire sideways to maintain stereo separation. "Why does an iPhone that cost $1000 still take 3 hours to charge? Why does an IPad still take all night to charge?" You can get the iPad charger fro the iPhone and charge it almost as fast as androids. iPads charge in about 3-3.5 hours. What era are you living in. "Why don't Mac's have touchscreen?" Because touchscreens are only useful on mobile devices. I use a windows laptop and have never used touchscreen on it. "Why does the Surface Studio look so much better than the iMac?" That's a stupid question. A product can look better than another because it was designed better. "Why is the Surface Pro 4 a better tablet and laptop than the iPad Pro, when Apple claimed the Surface was good at. Either and yet the iPad is t good for...anything beyond kiddie games and video playback?" surface is a better laptop than iPad, but the iPad is definitely the better tablet. Touch support on windows 10 sucks ass, and apps are non-existent. "Why is the iPad design exactly the same as the iPad 2?" Should I recommend an eye doctor? "Why does the Apple Watch gave such terrible battery life when it doesn't have GPS, a modem, a smaller screen than most, no UV, and much more it doesn't have." Yeah, the Apple watch sucks balls. I don't like Apple. Their products are overpriced and they are too restrictive for my usage. But it's people like you who make me throw. I love android, but hate blind fanboys like you who can't even appreciate the technology a rival brings.

Not bad for starters. I've done these full replies to techie - it falls on deaf ears. You gained my respect dude.

"3. Best video stabilization on any phone, period." I think/thought pixel rocks in that department, doesn't it?

34. Tyrion_Lannister unregistered

Pixel has smoothest videos, but when you pan horizontally, it causes microstutters. Also you don't know what is getting framed when you are shooting, since the stabilization crop is done after the video is filmed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Orf87bu7VhI This video explains it better. Jump to around 3:30 for the issue with crop, though I recommend watching the whole video.

Oh and PA I think didn't eve post the story on how Apple has dropped the Apple Car idea and plans to trybto work to make the software they made, a software car makers can buy to help make them autonomous. The problem is, Google a d GM already have working concepts and so does Tesla. Who is gonna buy Apple's garbage? Apple is "Cook"ed. And pun is intended. Sets your clocks and Mark your calendars and glue my post to it. Apple is about to become what Sega and IBM is today. A software company supporting other people's platforms.
