Almost no one leaving AT&T for iPhone on other U.S. carriers

Just a year ago the internet was agog with complaints about the iPhone's exclusivity to AT&T. Yet in the months sense AT&T has not seen an uptick in their churn rate...

I was waiting for it and there it is ^^. I was thinking that it might, just might, be possible to get through a single thread without an Android/iPhone battle, but nope. Someone had to go and piss all over the walls when noone was looking.

Its very simple, most are still in contract with ATT, and won't switch because VZW now has tiered data plans.

i am grandfathered in the unlimited data for At&t ( i use about 6 GB a month) and my phone isnt even 4g(HSDPA+) or $G LTE. Its about 1-2 mpbs , cant complain, and the coverage is pretty good, at&t is improving, and i like it.

Ah, yes... my unlocked Nokia E75 on AT&T in Southern Pennsylvania, with HSDPA 3.6 at full bars everywhere I went in all of York County... even in my basement. That was my best year... ah, the mobile phone nostalgia!

I guess it is the unlimited data plans quite a few of these people might have, I burned through 37gb last month w/ Verizon, it is addictive.

Well, the wife left AT&T for Verizon - iphone 3GS to iphone 4S - she had a business discount account and AT&T did not allow an upgrade to 4S - she cancels both lines and calls AT&T to advise that the user of the other line is deceased and the rep waives both ETFs. Her ETF was not the 325.00 advanced device variety, but still that was nice of the rep. Looks like I get a nice 4G LTE phone by Feb. BTW, AT&T has been doing an outstanding job. In my home now, I get at least 3 bars of service. My buddy bought that PORN phone, the HTC VIVID, and on he netted 13.5 mbps download....that is smoking! I hope I get that when I make the switch from my captivate.

this article is came out too quickly we have to wait until the etf's is over for the 4 owners before we can come to the conclusion that att has retained its customers. anyone with any pocket sense will pick the cheapest to performance option. if sprint can maintain unlimited data and find a way to expedite lte expansion and 3g expansion in the form of building penetration provided by the 800ghz spectrum before the etf. i am confident we will have an influx of new subscribers. i would like sprint to rollout the data usage by avg data phone users compared to verizon and att. I am sure it will be shocking to find out how much data we sprint users are actually using. i avg around 6-7gb a month and no i don't abuse the data. how much do you use?

I will still agree that AT&T is the worst carrier to use an iPhone on, ask the Manager at the Portland, OR Apple store in the mall. He seems to agree!
