The upcoming Alcatel 5 managed to get shown off today through a series of leaks. First, the phone appeared in a series of press renders, which you can find in the slideshow at the bottom of this story. In addition, tipster Roland Quandt disseminated a tweet that included an official Alcatel promotional video about the phone. The video revealed some of the specs belonging to the handset. Earlier this year, we showed you some other renders of the Alcatel 5, which is reportedly the manufacturer's flagship model for 2018.

The Alcatel 5 features a 5.7-inch LCD display with an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1440. That means that the phone has an 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood is the MediaTek MT6750 chipset with an octa-core CPU clocked at 1.5GHz, and the Malti-T860 MP2 GPU. 3GB of RAM is inside along with 32GB of expandable storage. On back is a fingerprint scanner along with the 12MP camera (f/2.0). In front, there is a dual-camera setup featuring a 13MP camera (f/2.0) along with a 5MP sensor that carries a 120 degree wide-angle lens.

Besides having the fingerprint scanner in back, the Alcatel 5 supports Face Unlock. Keeping the lights on is a 3000mAh battery, and Android 8.0 is installed out of the box. Launching first in Europe, the Alcatel 5 will be available next month in Black and in Gold, priced at €230 ($286 USD).
