i think many people in the future will think like this, the same is already going on with the tablets(nexus and other small tablets). You can almost do the same with chinese phones as with popular brand phones. Many people, especialy the older people don't use every feature a phone has.

Exactly...cheap Chinese phones of today have MONSTER specs in them...something that Apple iphone owners could only dream of having.

Why pay $600-$700 when a knock off brand whicht costs only a fraction of it can do just as good

Its the same innards...minus the brand name.

I'd rather pay for more well known brands rather than cheap chinese s**t. Would stick to Samsung, Sony, HTC etc if i want an android phone. China milks the hell out of their underpaid workers, thats why they can charge so low for their phones.

Everything in the tech world does not have to do with hating Apple. You do realize that people that like Apple could care less about cheap smartphones. They just want Apple products. Get over it.

Look, a friend of mine has a Galaxy S3 chinese clone, he paid 179 eur for it, or something like that. The problem is that quality is not comparable at all: camera is awful, performance is not the same, the screen only has the same size, but the resolution is low and colors are awful. So, remember that you get what you pay for, anyway I agree that if you don't need the high-quality delivered by premium brands you can easily get away with a china-phone.

Meh I have my doubt, I'd rather just get a nexus out for Google play for 100 more and enjoy that having to deal with unknown brands and its issues, so far the to top small ones Alcatel wawei or whatever that's called have lacked support from the companies and compromise
