Damn Samsung! We don't need any bad battery press heading into the release of the king. Just make sure those replacements are safe. No more Note 7...ever.

Based on the article it appears that Samsung had nothing to do with this particular refurbishment program. Looks like it's all on FedEx.

I'm aware, but the blame will go to them regardless.

This wasn't Samsung's doing, they didn't refurbish these phones, they didn't supply the battery, and they aren't handling the replacement themselves. But yes, bad time for this to hit the news.

Bet on, this was planned prank. Right timing. Well covered by the media. To hurt Samsung's reputation before Note 8. No matter that Samsung has nothing to do with this, it will affect ppl's brains.

I'm buying mine day one. Based on how well the S8 Plus has been, I'm ready to go with a Note 8.

See how easy it is to handle battery problems when they're replaceable?

Totally agree. A swappable battery should be mandatory. I'm willing to sacrifice some aesthetics for some peace of mind.

Very skewed title implying this is Samsung's fault which it certainly isn't. But hey it's PA. Low expectations.

Did you buy a refurb model from AT&T? If not, this wouldn't have pertained to you anyway.

It was a refurb model, but the memory control started to go out... so i did a warranty claim and got an s7 edge

I realised I had 2 counterfeit batteries for my Note Edge when I noticed both of them had the same serial numbers! Buy from reputable dealers only.....I learnt my lesson!
