AT&T's new streaming service "WatchTV" will be free to subscribers of two new unlimited plans
Last weekend, in the aftermath of AT&T's purchase of Time Warner, the nation's second largest carrier announced that it will launch a new app called "WatchTV" that streams television content from AT&T owned cable networks. Actually, much of the content comes from the former Turner properties that were included in the $85 billion transaction. Today, AT&T officially revealed that the "WatchTV" app will be available for free to subscribers of the wireless provider's latest two unlimited plans. Those plans, AT&T Unlimited &More and AT&T Unlimited &More Premium, will both launch next week.

WatchTV will include content from:

  • A&E
  • AMC
  • Animal Planet
  • Audience
  • BBC World News
  • BBC America
  • Boomerang
  • Cartoon Network
  • CNN
  • Discovery
  • Food Network
  • FYI
  • Hallmark Channel
  • Hallmark Movies & Mysteries
  • HGTV
  • History Channel
  • HLN
  • IFC
  • Investigation Discovery
  • Lifetime
  • Lifetime Movies
  • OWN
  • Sundance TV
  • TBS
  • TCM
  • TLC
  • TNT
  • TruTV
  • Velocity
  • Viceland
  • WE TV

After the app launches, ET, Comedy Central, MTV2, Nicktoons, Teen Nick and VH-1 will be added. WatchTV will be compatible with nearly every smartphone, tablet and web browser, and will include over 15,000 on-demand television shows and movies. The app will also be offered to non-AT&T customers for a price of $15 per month.
