AT&T spiffs up its pre-paid offerings, adds new $50 tier
AT&T has revised its pre-paid options for subscribers, and has added a new $50/month level of service. All tiers include unlimited talk in the U.S., unlimited text to over 100 countries, and unlimited data. The $50, $60 and $85 a month plans are discounted $10 for subscribers using AutoPay. In addition, AT&T is tossing in more hotspot data on its $85 a month plan to 10GB/month from the previous 6GB/month.

The carrier is also increasing the multi-line discount for its customers. A second pre-paid line now receives a $10/month discount, which doubles the old figure. The other change in this department occurs with a fourth line, which now snags a monthly $20 discount as opposed to the previous $15/month price break.

AT&T's pre-paid lineup now looks like this:

  • $35 – 1GB of high speed data, 128kbps afterward.
  • $45 – 6GB of high speed data, 128kbps afterward.
  • $50 – 8GB (new) of high speed data, 128kbps afterward.
  • $65 – Unlimited high speed data, data can be throttled during network congestion.
  • $85 – Unlimited high speed data, data can be throttled after 22GB is consumed in one month.
