AT&T Navigator named best consumer GPS app
Almost every wireless carrier has their own application used for GPS navigation. Frost & Sullivan, a global growth consulting company, has awarded AT&T Navigator as the 2009 “Consumer Navigator Application of the Year.” The turn-bu-turn navigation program powered by TeleNav was AT&T's top-performing application in 2008. Not to be outdone by itself, it continues to be in the top leader boards for 2009. The one major difference that makes it the best navigation app is its ability to be used around the world since last summer. Verizon Wireless recently launched their global version of the popular VZ Navigator. But AT&T Navigator launched it earlier; offering customers a global GPS solution.

How could it have beaten VZ navigator? I mean I LOVE paying $3 per day to use it and even more so to have to pay $10 per month to subscribe to it when Iphone users can access google maps for free. Why doesn't Verizon just unlock the GPS function on our phones? I mean it's a good application, but I wish it were an option to use among other applications.

Driv14, I was being sarcastic... As you can see in my last sentence, I'm actually complaining about VZ navigator... learn to critically read things moron.

Haha. I caught the sarcasm

ok chupum for one. 10 dollars a month is the same costs as ATT navigator (learn your pricing) secondly google maps is not a substitute for VZ Nav nor ATT nav. VZ nav offers movie times, weather updates, AUDIBLE turn by turn directions which will re-route you if you take a wrong turn OR if there is traffic congestion. It also offer a "favorites" section, and traffic updates. so sorry that your fruggleness heas led you to believe that google maps is a better product.

Google maps is free. That's the most important thing.

While subtle things like sarcasm can be hard to catch in text, this one was blatantly obvious, kid. I don't believe my nephew of 4 years wouldn't have caught it. In fact, he's here making fun of you, too.

As you can see, this was based on global coverage. VZW just recently released the global version of VZ Navigator. We'll see who takes the cake next time this around for wireless GPS. But then again, iPhonearena probably won't post the next update that shows VZW as the victor. EARLY LTE FTW!!!

First of all this has nothing to do with Iphone so I don't know where iPhone arena came from. Secondly, there is an article posted just a little while ago about Verizon being #1 in customer satisfaction for 6 years straight. So everything you said has was worthless.

seems like all i do is bag on people on phonearena forums so i guess i shouldn't stop now. Chupum... ever used VZnav? it's great, just like AT&T's nav. both really good usefull, and beneficial services. you on the other hand have such a hard time shelling out some cash you need to rely on google maps. good luck trying to find a destination if you took a wrong turn... or if heaven forbid, google maps was actually wrong. throw in a buck Mr Pink, subcribe to a location based service, and get some turn by turn directions on how to get your wallet out of your pocket. BTW, vz smart phones have open gps so you can use google maps... as do most carriers.

Listen Geek, You too need to learn to critically read. After reasonably complimenting VZ navigator, why would you ask me if I've ever used it before? I don't mind it if people who post on this forum aren't employed in any area of cellular technology, but what I DO mind is when people don't take the time to actually digest and form well thought out responses to other people's posts! As for your point about shelling out some cash... Do you live with your parents or something? Do you live in a basement where your mom brings you your dinner every night? Or did you sell your soul to Wall Street? Some people do good work for a living and may still be young professionals, like myself... You may not know this, but medical interns, despite having the title Medical Doctor, don't make much money. We will someday, but not yet. So excuse me for paying my way through school and now my own life and wanting to save my pennies. As for your rant about me needing luck to find a place in the event of a "wrong turn" or "Google maps is wrong"... First of all, if google maps can be wrong, then, in all practical logic, so can VZ navigator... ACTUALLY VZ navigator has been wrong. I have been on a higway and it apparently thought that I was on a parallel local street and told me to make a U-turn... A U-turn?!?!?! This also goes out to VZWEMP... where did you your research idiot, Google maps on can give congestion information, points of interest Geek, you have officially proven that self proclaimed geeks aren't always intelligent. I'll take a free GPS program over an over priced turn-by-turn direction program, because I'm smart enough to read maps... moron... Oh and by the way, not all VZ smartphones have open GPS, you idiot. Only certain smartphone have open GPS units, like the HTC pro and the BB Storm. The Omnia and the BB 8830 and BB Curve don't have open GPS units, google maps can only locate you via towers.... Maybe the only reason why you seem like you're always bagging on people, is because you don't have an original bone in your body and you just like being onerous.

thats fine maybe youre too broke to afford TEN dollars a month. oh and actually the BBstorm and Omnia the Saga and the Touch Pro all have unlocked GPSs. im not going to continue to argue over which is better. because i guarantee you that if vznav was free you would use that instead of google maps. we all know that vznav has more featues than google maps. but youre just broke and instead of realizing that you want to down play vznav. anyway im sorry i didnt really take to time to read over your FOUR paragraph response, i just skimmed over it and came to the conclusion that youre a poor idiot who most likey makes minimum wage.

I never argued which was better, you moron. Just that google maps is a free substitute. If you're not going to actually exercise your brain and read something as short as 4 paragraphs, then you are more simple minded than I thought. And by the way, I may be poor now as a 1rst year medical doctor, but someday you, and perhaps your kids, might be calling my office or hospital, begging to treat yours and their V.D. Oh and by the way, your comment about , "if VZ nav was free,"... Well if it were free, we wouldn't be having this argument now would we... READ THE ORGINAL POST YOU IMBECILE! That was my initial complaint. I'll take free over having to pay $10/ month... ANY DAY!

chupum.... ha ha ha. hey, i'm a flippin jerk huh! you want a cookie? how about you get a little more upset on an online phone forum. as for being a geek, that was pretty tounge-in-cheek you get me? so i will continue to read these forums however i want to, voice my opinion the way i feel fit, and kick you google-mapping-mom and her iphone out of bed whenever that gets stale. cheers.

You first insult me and "bag" on me and I'm the jerk? I'd be okay calling myself combative, upset, and hostile towards hypocrisy as a character flaw of mine, but a jerk when I didn't even throw the first punch? You sir, are an idiot. And if you're trying to be sincere about your statements, first try reading the post thoroughly before you go "bagging" on people. And try to notice sarcasm when you read it... Just make sure you read slowly... And one more thing, I was laughing when I read this, "so i will continue to read these forums however i want to, voice my opinion the way i feel fit," Okay junior, now that your temper tantrum is done, I'll say my peace. My mom brought up a son who put himself through medschool, which makes for a pretty good mom. But to think that you could attract anything with a heart beat to hit the sack with you is laughable... Go cry in your race-car bed.

haha. crirical reading... "ha ha ha. hey, i'm a flippin jerk huh!" check the above statement. if you can't take a your-mom joke in stride, you spent too much time with your head in the books as far as you criticizing my character... tell me something i don't know haha. suck it chupum

AZNphoneGeek, Well, as far as telling you what you don't know, the list would be too vast! So I'll just stick to pointing out idiotic statements in your posts. And, as a bit of advise, when someone comments on your "character" as an unattractive loser, and someone who cries in his race-car bed, the more witty thing to do would not say, "tell me something I don't know" and then laugh at yourself for it. And by the way, you misspelled "critical" in the first line of your post. Nice job dummy.

E.N. ... i have no idea why i talked about the iPhone haha. it just seems to come up and accidentally worked itself into my rant as well haha. totally irrelavent huh.
