A new version of Google Maps available for Windows Mobile
The mobile application, that knows where everything is – Google Maps, has now been updated to version 3.0.1, available for both Professional and Standard versions of Windows Mobile. Unfortunately, there are no new features added by the update, but it does fix a few bugs and more specifically, ones related to Google Latitude. To start with, Google Latitude is now updating your location properly, while running in the background and once you have closed Google Maps. Have in mind though, that when Google Latitude is in background location update mode, the feature would be able to acquire data from cell towers only, without options for usage of Wi-Fi or GPS. This measure seems to be done in order to preserve battery life, but have in mind that it maintains a constant data connection.
