A barrage of 8" Android tablets from Asus, Acer, Dell and Lenovo coming in Q3

A barrage of 8
Analysts from NPD DisplaySearch have issued a note that indicates Asus, Acer, Dell and Lenovo are all preparing to release 8-inchers in the vast Android universe.

The reasoning seems to be that 7" tablets, besides selling by the boatload, have no other virtues, since they are given at rock bottom prices at thin margins, especially the Nexus 7, where you can't really fight Google.

With 8" slates, the companies can add a feature or two, and up the sale price, thus avoiding the race to the bottom that goes on in the 7" world, and also havea response to Apple's iPad mini, like Samsung did with the Note 8.0. Moreover, Windows 8 already issued its first 8-inchers, so the fight in this barren until recently screen diagonal is about to intensify.

And still, no innovation on the resolution of 7-8-inch tablets.

Where is Acer's 7.9 inch tablet? Is it not going to be available in the US?
