74% of polled Verizon subscribers who want to get an iPhone, are holding their horses for the next one

A relatively small sample of 216 carrier customers showed that the majority of Verizon subscribers (74%), who are planning to get an iPhone, are sniffing at the iPhone 4, and waiting for the imminent update, which should come in a month or two, if all rumors ring true...

it wasnt an android/iOS battle until taco started in. Its still not an android ioS battle.. he keeps trying though. most of the comments other than taco's are about the survey itself.. and then there is taco... like normal.

Again I never mentioned android at all. What I'm saying is that all you android fans are overreacting as usual to something that sounds good for Apple. And yet it's not even saying anything that great. Just that people who want an iPhone are waiting for the new one.

haha very true sir

doh I was right the poll was Verizon only... I think they used previous data or separate data for AT&T... Reading the real article on appleinsider is actually clearer. Though the results do seem sckewed if we also believe the market % we saw a few days ago where android held 40% and iphone 30%... In the poll of 216 64% had an iphone

92. dandirk unregistered

I really should register just to edit my own mistakes... the poll of 216 had 29% iphone.

that poll was US only. in the world its 40% android, 18% apple.

If you guys remember, a similar poll was done last year, I'm just not sure about the sample population. But it had a similar conclusion to this one. So a year later, what do we see? Millions of Androids more than last year. This has translated in a better Android %growth as compared to Apple's iPhone. And Android market share keeps climbing. So yeah, 216 cannot yield any conclusive results.

My first day on my new job, and this is what I come back to. Lol. I realize the main thrust of the article was about what percentage of people who were already opting for the iPhone said they were getting the next one, but it also took care to mention that almost half of Android users were going for the iPhone next. So there was perfect fodder for an iOS/Android battle. And yes, the sample size was too small. It doesn't take into account anything involving demographics or the actual questions asked. For all we know we're looking at a survey done on a group of 13the year olds who want the iPhone because their friends have it. Anyway, I'm not really interested in a comment war tonight. My day went too well. :)

This survey is old news. It's been said many times already that a lot of Verizon customers are holding off for the next iphone that they thought was going to be released in June. Now they're holding off even longer until October for the iphone5. That is why the iphone4 launch at Verizon was very impressive, considering that the iphone4 was almost a year old when it was released in Verizon. Yet it still sold in millions. I just can't imagine how big the iphone5 will be with Verizon. Ummmm, why are fandroids defensive? Nowhere in the article was android mentioned. This 74% probably referred to non-android users. Don't worry fandroids, 100% of android users with Verizon will stay with android, because android devices are just too awesome. So just stay happy :) In other news, Samsung, LG, and Motorola will also be launching their Mango devices very soon. Again, don't worry fandroids, no current android user will switch to a Mango device, because again, android devices are just too awesone :)

Motorola hasn't announced any plans to launch anything running Windows Phone anytime soon. Though it probably would be a smart move if they did.

Here's examples of fandroids trolling 11. DROIDX0430 posted on 8 hours ago 3 4 Impossible finding. Totally biased!!!!!!!!!!! 74% yeah right. I wasn't in the poll...What is this poll taken in front of a ATT storefront.... Thumbs up or down!!! Who cares about a iphone 5, 6 or 7. If the next iphone launches without LTE or dual core, then anything less is a pure waste of money.....like I said before

to find an example of and iBot trolling you only need to look at 90% of your posts, Taco.

More trolling 46. wumberpeb posted on 7 hours ago 1 1 I gave you a thumbs up because I felt bad for your piss poor math....thought a nice thumbs up would at least get you to crack a smile In other news, this survey simply says that 3 out of 4 people who want an iPhone are waiting for the iPhone5. Well no s**t! what's the point in spending $199 on a year old phone that's about to drop in price in about 8 weeks? If the Apple advertising machine wasn't one giant brain-drain, that number would be upwards of 95%

And more 2. remixfa posted on 9 hours ago 10 well gee.. with a sample size of 216 out of nearly 100 million customers, im sure its accurate within a few degrees of freedom.. or not. this is just iTroll material.. lol

And more 13. SuperAndroidEvo posted on 8 hours ago 6 2 No he wouldn't remixfa is one of the most fair people on this site. He IS right about the sample size. He would say the same if it was about Android. I agree with him the sample size is too small to even count. 216 isn't even a half of a % of the total wireless customers in the US. That's what you call trolling? And I guess saying that android users can't possibly have significant others isn't an act of trolling? You don't want to go down this road, Taco. You will lose badly.

I choose Apple so I can never lose. I said he doesn't get laid because he's married not that he isn't married.

You will lose if you choose the tack of accusing everyone else of trolling. And you insinuated that as an Android user he wouldn't have any girl. Once again you step into deadly territory. When's the last time you got to make sweet love down by the fire, Taco?

141. taco50

No one who gets layed says "make sweet love down by the fire". And it's true android fans in general don't get laid

145. Sniggly

Posts: 7305; Member since: Dec 05, 2009

No one who has anything close to an active sex life misspells "laid." And how would you know? When's the last time you had sex, Taco? Answer the question. Stop evading.

There actually is some point to that. I mean nerdy types will more likely pick android. This is because its more open and has better specs. People who buy apple more often dont care about these things. Makes sense to me. This is sorta trolling but you brought it up.

I think you'd be surprised at the amount of Android users who have active sex lives. It was nothing close to a valid point, and he meant it as a personal insult to Remixfa.
