Not everyone might be in tune with watching television on a mobile phone, but it's becoming increasingly more popular. MobiTV has become the industry leader in mobile content and services delivery with their subscriber base hitting the 7 million mark. Quite an astonishing feat when you consider that they added an additional two million in the last six months. The popular software is available on over 350 handsets and across 20 carrier networks; including domestic carriers Sprint and AT&T. College basketball played a key part in those figures in March with MobiTV's “tournament pass.” The partnership with CBS Sports brought March Madness to the iPhone; becoming a top selling download in the App Store. Not stopping there, they will be proposing a new delivery model named “MixTV” that combines free live broadcast with interactive DVR-esque capabilities. The innovation looks promising with hopes of continuing their growth.
