"Workhorse" seems a bit much. I'd think more along the lines of "workduck" or "workkitten"... No offense intended of course, I just probably couldn't get much work done on it is all.

An oversized ipod touch, this is the ipad not a pro nor a productivity device.

You have to give credit to the iPod touch, it does everything an iPad does but still fits in your pocket and costs 1/3 of the price! Give it a physical keyboard and it will become a productivity workhorse!

So funny a surface pro whitout keyboard would still be much more productive than an ipad pro with a keyboard. the problem is the OS not the hardware!
