They didn't even other to upgrade the display to 1080p or oled. They made one noticeable upgrade but when it comes out isheeps will still be screaming innovation.

They wont upgrage the huge Max to 1440p. Why would they use 1080 on 11r? It will sell much more than other too again.

As far as i know only tech geeks had a problem with Xr resolution. In real life, people still pick Xr, i saw that in youtube.

Because it's cheaper than he other 2. DUH!!!!! Exactly why Samsung sells more cheap phoens than flagships. If Apple had more cheaper models it would be the same. But with Apple, buying cheaper means buying older. With Android you can get a brand new cheaper device that is better than a cheaper flagship. One thing about being on top, is the higher you are; the further it is to fall and the more its gonna hurt when you hit the bottom.

My phone has 1080p 16:9. On youtube it is easy to see difference when video is played 720 and 1080p.

Its because the display on the XR is compared to the display on a cheap Xiaomi phone. You need real results, compare with a Sony with 1080p LCD or Huawei with Samsung 1080p OLED. Let's see which phone people pick.

Considering the fact that the XR has sold more than the XS & XS Max combined, clearly most people aren't worried about the resolution.

Most people can only afford XR.

But that shouldn't be the point. if other phones are offering better for the same price, why can't Apple. You are essentially paying for what isn't there. Are you actually ok with that? Here let me test my theory. You go to a eatery and order a hot dog with everything. This eatery charges a bit more when you get it with everything vs plain. But after you order they bring you a plain one and trying to charge you the same price, for what you actually ordered. Are you OK with that? Because what you said it isn't the point. They sold more because they are cheaper. That doesn't mean they shouldn't get their monies worth. Getting their monies worth would mean, based on other phones that cost the same, you should have a QHD+ display and it should be OLED, you should have 128GB minimum of storage, you should have a 3500MaH battery or even larger, you should have a headphone jack, you should have IP68, you should have USB Type C , you should have a fast charger and you should have premium headphones in the box. Why? because you can buy a phone exactly like that for the same price. If they can do it, why are you will to except less from Apple at the same price point? It probably cost Samsung $350 to make the S10e. Apple wants to make a "similar' phone, but have it cost even less to make so they make morr profit. How? By basically shoving a iPhone 8 into a new shell and charging you $750 for it.

How about OS? Ecosystem? Post sales services? Apps optimization? Updates? Reliability after 5 years? I don’t think any old android flagship device comes close with iphone 6. Its stills smooth as new.

They were worried with their wallets. That is why Xr sells more.

This may have more to do with how much money people have to spend on a phone as opposed to which is better or preferrable. The point about the screen is valid though. Most people don't care that much so long as they can read it.

What makes the fans so stupid is, they consider this an upgarde to the iPhone 7/8 plus models, when its a downgrade. why do you have to drop down to a HD+ display from 1080P? If Samsung can sell a phone with a QHD+ display for $750, why can't Apple. In fact, 1080P phones are below $300. But their only argument is Apple is making so much money. Yes they are and I'm glad they are only ripping you all off for it. because I refuse to get ripped off. That's why I stop buying macs. Why pay double to apple, to get a computer that is usually 2 or 3 hardware generations behind? Fool by a logo and their own insecurities of feeling they need to be superior to someone. While carrying a heavily overpriced inferior product. The iPhone itself is inferior to other phone sin its price point. The cameras don't take as good a photo, videos are so unstable when moving, no headphone jack, smaller batteries, smaller storage, lower resolutions, less app capability and flexibility. But yet all this is worth MORE money than what the competition offers? Which is the total opposite. Apple loves suckers!

1 - Apple does want want to sell a $750 phone with Full HD because they now cheaper model will outsell the rest much more. It would mean less profits. 2- If I was owner of a company that makes screen I would charge more from Apple than other companies because I know iphones will selll much more than other flagships. So I can earn much more money. Bills of materials , of Xs Max has about same price of S10+. Since Samsung has many in-house stuff they can get cheaper compared to other brands.

Budget flagship, not budget phone. Don't quote something that's not written.

But its not a budget flagship. remember the Galaxy S use to cost $650, and it was considered a flagship. The Galaxy S7 is a flagship. The S7 was $750 for the edge model .The S10e is spec'd very similar to the S7, but with a newer CPU and considerably improved cameras and more storage. The S10e is a lower costing one. But that's its original cost. But budget isn't the right word. It's not a cheaper flagship. Because "cheap" and "flagship" are not synonymous with each other. You should say it is a "entry-level" flagship. The lower price allows you to get a flagship caliper device, at a lower price point than it more spectacularly spec'd siblings. It's like Cadillac and Buick are a "entry-level" luxury option that is more affordable my more people vs those who can buy something more fancy like a Benz or Bentley as examples. Using the word "cheap" with Flagship is wrong.

The camera bump design is quite ugly or displeasing and I would hope that is not the final design. They should just leave it the way it was on the iPhone XS or go back to the horizontal layout of the iPhone 8 Plus with as small a bump as possible if one is required at all. Also, they should just bit the bullet and make the display a tall 1080p resolution while bumping up the flagships to a tall QHD resolution

Samsung has QHD and yet user opted for default because they tried to save more battery.

That's the thing that Apple users don't understand. It's an option. I would rather have the option to bump up the screen res than not. Just like I have the option to use a 3.5mm jack or use BT. There is no reason for compromise. For the record, I have my res set to the default. I only bump it if I want better detail in a video.

Apple users don’t like options. They are listeners and great followers.

I bump up the resolution on videos on my Apple TV. 4K 60 inch where it actually matters

Which people think it works. QHD has 60% pixels than FHD, so you cannot turn pixels off because the rest cant fill whole screen. Probably is just same UI trick of Sony 4K phones. Running apps at 1080p.
