Samsung is in many ways just like apple. Brand loyalty blinds their customers from considering other brands offering better quality. I'm not saying Samsung is better than Sony at all, BUT, when I decided to purchase a new phone this week I considered all options available to me. I read many reviews and comparisons. Many people here say that the S5 mini's AMOLED display is better in daylight, but according to the comparisons, Z1c is better in this category too...

The amoled screens make colors more vibrant and blacks are actually black. It's the only thing I like about Samsung phones.

But any other color looks like a cartoon... Am I to understand people like cartoons?

Why would anyone prefer a 640p display over 1080p?

Requires less processing power and used less battery etc.

I wasn't defending the iPhone. iPhone has a miniature battery. But what I meant in general if you'd put a 640p screen on any Android flagship, they would perform even faster and have better battery life.

He didn't mentioned, so he is fan. Fact is fact... Z1 compact is better choice, waterproof, great design and quality, best camera, battery life is good, screen is great, etc......

I had a Samsung s3, s4 mini and switched to a Sony Zr, which I'm still currently using. I won't buy the Compact Z1 because it doesn't have a removable battery. I'm constantly on my phone all day and don't want to compromise or have to constantly be careful of battery life. I simply open the back and chuck a new battery in. Bring on the s5 mini. I only hope the processor is powerful enough

Xperia Z1 compact is the only mini version wich is actually better than the bigger, original version, per example the screen. plus it's cheaper than the almost 500€ S5 mini.

Samsung minis are always last to get the latest android update. I have the s4 and still no kitkat for 5 months now still on 4.2 So think again.

Stupid question, of course Z1C will win, but Nubia is nice, only it shouldn't have "mini" in name. 4.7" is not mini.

All above average Sony phones(T, Z, ZR) irrespective of year released are $800+ in my country! With the One Mini 2, at least you get an uncommon sexy phone in your hands to look as all these minis use poor Snapdragon 400! But I'll take the Moto G 4G when it becomes available worldwide.

I guess the iPhone is not included here as it is too small!

The Sony Z1 Compact is the only "mini" worthy of its big brother's name. All the rest have neutered specs, while the Z1 is every bit the beast the full-sized one is (even moreso, since the lower-res screen means everything runs even faster). Frankly, I think a Z2 Compact would be kinda pointless, since the Z1 Compact is such a high performer. An 801 and 3GB RAM might be wasted on a 720p screen. But if they can make it (or the Z3 Compact) with a 1080p 4.5-4.7" screen, that'd be awesome.

"An 801 and 3GB RAM might be wasted on a 720p screen." That's interesting thought... Mainly because, I have entirely opposite view on the subject. I feel that 801 is usually wasted on 1080p (and recently above) screens. I mean, instead of using this power, to make everything working smoother, and do even more advanced tasks, processing power is wasted on calculating colours of milions of pixels, that human eye is unable to see from normal viewing distance...

Absolutely this! a 720p screen with more grunt under the hood. As far as this poll goes though, definitely a Z2 compact, don't want a crippled snapdragon 400 and want the fixed camera issues from the z2 compared to the z1

In my country, Z1C costs the same as Z1, $798, One mini and S5 mini costs about $500.
