CES 2016 Wrap-up: All the highlights from the show

What’s most notable, however, is the sudden surge of rising stars that infiltrated the show with some attractive devices in the mid-range segment. We won’t go into the specifics right now, but we certainly will go in detail in the slideshow.

BLU Vivo XL hands-on

Just like its close sibling in the Vivo 5, the Vivo XL fashions the same svelte construction and lightweight figure that makes it stand out from a first inspection. Rather than having an all-metal body, however, the casing features what BLU called a “liquid metal finish” that coats the entire back.

Hisense C20 hands-on

Watching the live demo of the Hisense C20 being dropped time-after-time inside of this contraption, it’s undoubtedly something that’s meant to withstand punishment. Add to that, the C20 features a water-resistant IP67 construction to survive submersion for an extended amount of time.

Asus ZenPad 10 hands-on

Over on the tablet side, we managed to get a quick look at its full-sized Android offering in the Asus ZenPad 10 during CES 2016. The price is to die for, honestly, just because it’s rocking a price point under the $200 threshold, which is pretty affordable considering it’s a full-sized offering.

Poll results: Which of the phones announced at CES 2016 did you like the most?

CES 2016 has come and gone, and all the major phone announcements are now behind us, that is why we asked you last week which of the handsets that were presented there tickled your fancy the most. Somewhat surprisingly, Huawei's big Mate 8 6-incher got the accolades of our 1876 respondents, earning 44% of the vote. The phone has already been announced for Asia, but Huawei thought it prudent to showcase it on the world's biggest electronics expo as well. Next in line is the first phone with Snapdragon 820, the LeTV Le Max Pro, followed by the amazing value of the 5.5" metal Honor 5X....

A leaked photograph that surfaced today allegedly reveals the front panel of the unannounced ZTE Nubia Z11. Which of the tablets announced at CES 2016 did you like the most? (poll results)

The CES 2016 is in full swing, but we've already had our fair share of mobile-related announcement with phones and tablets arriving from Samsung, LG, Huawei, Alcatel and a few others. The tablet unveilings in particular have been few and far between, reflecting the changing dynamics from the times that Apple's iPad ruled supreme, to the current state of affairs where tablets are seeing a decline in both interest and purchase for the sake of phones with larger displays, or thin and light laptops...

Get to know the Galaxy TabPro S better thanks to Samsung's newest infographic

Merely days ago during its press event at CES 2016, Samsung unveiled its the Galaxy TabPro S, a Windows 10-powered tablet that is its answer to Microsoft's Surface Pro as well as Apple's iPad Pro slate. It's well-equipped for the task at hand and does not bring a knife to a gunfight: with a 12-inch 2160 x 1440-pixel Super AMOLED display, a 6th-gen 14nm Intel Core M chipset, and 4GB of RAM, the TabPro S might nor be as over-spec'd as its rivals, but is a viable alternative...

ExoLens shows premium iPhone camera lens attachments with Zeiss optics

We've seen lens attachments for the iPhone before, but none of them have been of this caliber. Or price point, but more on that in a minute. At CES 2016, a young brand known as ExoLens (owned by its parent Fellowes) is showing off its latest products, including a pretty awesome-sounding set of lenses developed in collaboration with a name you might have heard of – Zeiss. The latter, in case you need a refresher, is one of the leading companies in the realm of professional optics...

Samsung Galaxy TabPro S hands-on: a Surface competitor?

The announcement of the Samsung Galaxy TabPro S marks the company's push into territory it has barely charted – that of 2-in-1 tablet devices. And when looked at from a broader perspective, the TabPro S is clearly coming in response to Microsoft's Surface Pro line and Apple's iPad Pro tablet. Could it stand a chance against them, however, and is it a device worth being thrilled about?..

LG K10 hands-on

When the rumor mill churns, we listen. And usually, we like what we hear. But when it came to CES 2016, word on the street was that it'll be slim pickings. With CES now in full steam, it turns out that the rumors were true. Case in point: Instead of the usual update to its extravagant and futuristic G Flex line, this time around LG limited itself to just two phone releases: the entry-level K7 and K10, the latter of which we finally managed to get our hands on...

ZTE Axon Max hands-on

Unlike the Axon Mini, there is no doubt that the ZTE Axon Max that we are previewing here deserves its "max" moniker. LG K7 (a.k.a. Tribute 5) hands-on

If you were hoping for a major LG unveiling at CES 2016, you were likely disappointment by the company's show yesterday. Not only did the company omit smartphones from its presentation, which instead focused on its TV and home appliances businesses, but the phones that it nevertheless brought to the show are anything but exciting. We had the opportunity to spend some hands-on time with the less inspiring one: the entry-level LG K7, which will debut on Boost Mobile's network in Q1 as the LG Tribute 5...
