Sony Xperia miro Review
Share:
Voice tones come out loud and distinctive from the Sony Xperia miro's earpiece, and don't sound crackly even when the volume is turned up all the way. The built-in loudspeaker has a high output, which renders it pretty usable when your hands are occupied. We only wish that the microphone was a bit better as our voice sounded slightly artificial on the other side of the line.
Battery life:
According to Sony, the 1,500 mAh battery on the Xperia miro will last a whopping 24 hours on a single charge, but that's when the smartphone is used with moderation. The cell is rated for 6 hours of continuous talk time, or 22.7 days of stand-by – pretty average figures that we are a lot more willing to believe.
Conclusion:
Now that we've gone over its pros and cons, we can safely conclude that the Sony Xperia miro is worthy of bearing our seal of approval. It earned our sympathies with its responsiveness and decent main camera, which are features not often seen on low-end Androids. Yeah, it may have a screen of below average quality and its looks might be uninspiring, but it is better to hold on to an ugly, yet functional device, than a flashy smartphone that has the snappiness of a sloth.
Before getting the Sony Xperia miro, however, perhaps you might want to take a look at some of its alternatives, such as the Sony Xperia U, which offers a faster processor and a better, high-resolution screen. If your budget can handle it, the HTC One V is also worth checking out as it has superior build quality and an even better camera. Another alternative worth considering is the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2, which is equipped with a dual-core processor and a bigger, better screen.
Firmware version: 11.0.A.2.10, Android 4.0.4

Agreed... Just the screen resolution that's a letdown.

3.5inch, 1500mA battery and cheap price,... Uhm, seem promising.

I really don't think the camera is that great. It is not good with subjects that have shadows. They show up as totally dark blobs. And the bright objects in these photos are usually washed out. You can see examples in my HubPages article entitled Sony Xperia Miro Review by Randy M. Otherwise, I think the phone is great. I just carry it around to check emails and make phone calls.

Phone Arena you are wrong about the browser being laggy. I have been using this phone for days now & the browser actually loads pages very fast & scrolling is smooth I have no idea where you get that idea. This phone for the price is very good & what Sony has done with ICS has made it very smooth and fast for what it is compared to even the dual core Xperia U this phone seems smoother imo.

The browser is fine. I don't know what they are comparing it to, but I am quite happy with its speed. The voice-activated browser function is also flawless.

Samsung Wave 3 is better than this phone. For same price range we get almost double the CPU speed. Screen is almost same (just 0.5 inch bigger). Resolution is better. And also if you love to record videos, it has 720p recording which miro doesn't have. Battery backup of wave 3 is also good.
The main fallout of wave 3 is that it has Bada operating system and if you like android better.
Here is detailed comparison of these two:

please dont buy experia miro... worst phone i have ever used... first day itself it got shutted down itself while in use ... i approached the dealer for a reason... they consoled me saying battery it not charged properly... and they removed the battery and reinserted and it turned on.... but the same thing repeated almost every two days especially while using internet... also it shows a message of " RAM DUMPING TO SD" and stay idle for few minutes and restarts its own.... and exactly after one month... it stopped while use as usual and never turned on even after i tried all the tricks... now i taken it to the service center ... they asked me to wait for two weeks....
dont buy this .... never... if you do .... you will get big headaches for cheap price... better go for any samsung galaxy....

This is my first android device and so far so good. my only concern is that, when im using the walkman is that, the volume it tends to slow down for some occasion then pumps up, which is a bit annoying and alters the walkman experience. anyone who is experiencing the same problem? plzz help...

I like the phone - economical, good reception, call quality and the browser works great. I have had it about 6 months. It's just a little hard on my old eyes. I look forward to getting a larger display phone in the future to help my eyes out a little.

I bought this product here in Philippines. I thought that camera is great, but upon having a first shot on rear camera in a dim light dining room, it got a poor quality image even with Led Flash. Ouch!.. Then upon testing the front camera, MY GOD!! The Front Camera captures VERY VERY Dark in a Well lighted room?... So what's this phone anyway?. I've spend almost big amount of money buying this low grade phone ( I was fooled ) and with these quality pictures that they are advertising they are all fake..f**k off Sony!.. And one thing the phone is just light/ not heavy to my curiosity, upon checking the BOX, is says... MADE IN CHINA... I wanna burst into disappointment....
34. coltech88 posted on 19 Mar 2013, 10:33 0 0
Yes, the front camera isn't very good. Even for Skyping I found out. You need to be either outdoors or in a very well lit area. The back camera is ok, but it has a hard time with shadows. But, I still like the phone for a communication device. BTW, most devices are made in China these days, even the esteemed iPhone 5. If you bought this for the camera, you made a mistake. I always carry a good camera with me and don't depend on the phone so much for shots.

Sony Xperia Miro has a great looks. This phone runs on android os. It has better specification among all the sony phones in this proce range. But, it has low pixel density around 165ppi. I msut say Samsung Galaxy S duos is the better option over Xperia Miro. I have seen 91mobiles is offering the best price.
