Samsung Omnia II I8000 Review

HTC set a standard for Windows Mobile customization with TouchFLO, and last year Samsung made their entry into the market with the TouchWiz UI touting Omnia. The Omnia II I8000 is now here, and a 2 has been added to the end of TouchWiz as well. This new Omnia is bigger and badder, with just about everything getting a refresh...

It's important to provide as much clarification as possible. Omnia II running windows 6.1 lags. Running Windows 6.5 is actually much improved. I also added net compact framework 3.5 which improves on the OS stability and functionality.

I bought my omnia II on the release date, and it was the best phone ever for the first couple months, then everything went to hell. menus were freezing, buttons were locking and disappearing, it started taking up to 10 minutes just to load into a menu, signal would drop to 0 and i had to remove the battery to get signal back, settings would randomly get erased, oh and lets not forget the time i thought "what the hell i have facebook mobile" and after disconnecting it would log back on to the internet every 2 minutes. It's a waste of time and money, and the software updates are not possible unless i hack my phone, in which case why the hell would i update it instead of putting linux on it and have no problems ever? i say to hell with this phone and this is the last straw with samsung devices, NEVER again will i buy any samsung products, as so far it seems as though they couldn't make a light switch work properly.

Junk. Will not work without a data plan regardless of the software you use.

I bought this phone a little under a year ago. It is a piece of junk. It lags non stop, no matter what you try to do and has since day one. Even flipping through the menu screen it lags. Even texting will lag the phone.

The best part is that it won't even turn on now. The little windows logo just spins and spins and then freezes. I have to restart it a good 5-10 times.

It doesn't like to stay connected to bluetooth head sets. I have tried multiple ones so it isn't a headset problem.

I will never buy another Samsung phone in my life. Same goes for a windows OS phone.

I had this phone for 6 months and it was JUNK! The memory was used up, and the phone wouldn't let me delete anything to free it up. Took it to the Verizon Store, and they told me to get a new one because it was junk! I knew as soon as I saw it was a Windows phone I should have returned it. As the review says Lag, Lag, Lag is dead on. This thing is about as fast as a Dog with 3 broken legs. Total Piece of garbage Do NOT buy!!!
