Samsung Galaxy S III vs Samsung Galaxy Note
Not that the Note is slow, but the GS III is actually instantaneous when it's taking images (which is a feature made possible by Android 4). Overall, we prefer the camera UI of the Galaxy S III a bit more, since it has some more of the important settings accessible directly from the initial screen.
Images taken with both handsets are practically indistinguishable. It's as if there's a tad bit more sharpness with the Note's photos, but that doesn't necessarily mean that there will be more detail. While the LED flash of the Note is by no means bad, the one of the Galaxy S III is even better, being able to easily illuminate a whole room. We're content with the results that we got with these cameras – they captured some very good shots.

Samsung has upgraded its music player coming with the TouchWiz Nature UX (mostly visually), so the GS III is a bit better-equipped than the Note, although this is nothing that you can't fix with a third-party app.
Watching video is much better on the Galaxy Note, due to its gargantuan 5.3” display. Since the two screens are pretty much identical in terms of technology (except for the size), and both phones can play the same file types, the Note should be the clear choice if one is sooo into watching movies on their mobile device.

9.6 (7 doesn't count lol, user experience is what matters) vs 9.3 ...
Hmm... I'm still bought on how reviewers describe the new touchwiz. I want an S III. :(

and, they didnt even mention Spen in conclusion. really, watching video shouldent be so diffrent, but Spen is a featur specificly for note. that os the reason somone should buy G note.

The Note is too big. Sorry I not gonna just accept anything samsung throw at me.

Because like they said, their Note doesn't have official ICS support yet.

I prefer the Note with its greater versatility re the stylus and its uses. Also the bigger screen for reading text/books,watchttring games, videos now I have to wear reading glasses. I would use a Bluetooth ear piece when making/receiving phone calls which isn't very often. A higher quality polycarbonate plastic is nice but you don't see it inside a case and I always insist on putting my phones in
top quality cases like Seidio.Main interest is how much difference the ICS OS would make to the Note? The Note gets my vote.

I can answer to your question. I used the official update to ICS a bout a week: battery life seems a bit lower than GB, but UI is more fluid, and most of all the stock browser go to light speed, and also you have all the features of ICS (new multitasking, face unlock, Chrome, Etc) !

SIII sucks..Round round on the ground..lol..
Note is better. Cuz Note is powerful than SII, and currently, no game lags on SII. Even Incredible S with Cyanogen 7.2 and hardware acceleration enabled can play GTA 3 on medium settings.
Note is great. Big screen, Good looks.
SIII sucks. Same cam, curved edges, small screen, curved edges, stupid looks, curved edges..

I too feel note is better....even cost wise its 25% less! S3 Oscar never worth for that extra cost!

Damn.. The galaxy note still deserves a good 9 rating even if reviewed and the review of Galaxy Note is relatively old.. I cannot believe the Galaxy Note got 7 when it was the most powerful device of all time..
And what reason you guys gave for it. Nothing.. b'cuz it was the most powerful device of it's time and was the best alternative if someone feels the size of the tablet is very huge and it is no doubt the best thing for Business people and artists
No doubt the Galaxy Note was underrated. It still competes with the Galaxy S III and can run anything and any app except the apps that require ICS but this problem wouldn't be here for much longer..
Feels like the king was not treated good..!! Hate Ray S

WTF Phone arena? Note is only good for watching vids for big screen, otherwise get a S3? What about use ability on web surfing, document editing, photo editing with S-pen, S memo, Calander ALL EASIER with a much bigger screen?
You guys reviews are starting to become more narrowminded to point where they don't mean squat anymore
13. Myrith (Posts: 54; Member since: 17 Feb 2012)
Yeah, this review just seems to follow the template of all the other reviews, focusing on design, screen, interface, Internet, camera, etc. Those aspects fall into the typical consumer use of a phone, but the Note is a new breed that moves a bit more towards productivity.
This review mentions nothing about content creation and editing. There's a significant demographic that would choose the Note for drawing, editing pictures, taking class notes, or planning projects, even if the SIII is superior in other ways.

Uh oh, the author called the S-Pen a "stylus" in big bold letters. A pen with internal electronics typically isn't called a stylus.

AT&T ought to be prosecuted by the Department of Justice for monopoly, price fixing, prevent competition and conspiracy with Apple, Inc.
AT&T is the first and the only US carrier sells iPhone for the first three and half years in the US before any other US carriers. AT&T is also the only US carrier benefits financially from this monopoly, but the majority of the consumers suffered. Even the consumers of the AT&T ended up paying a higher rate.
Now, AT&T stroked again with the “Samsung galaxy note” deal. AT&T is the only US carrier exclusively selling this hot phone. The majority of the consumers got screwed again.
Folks, by leaving Verizon, Sprint or T mobile and then switch to AT&T for galaxy note will only help AT&T to have more money to strike on us in the future again. Let’s stand together to say no to AT&T. Let’s stand together to bring enough attention to the US Department of Justice. Just like MCI brought US DOJ to defeat AT&T in the 1980s.
US DOJ has already charged Apple for price fixing of the eBook. That’s far not enough. Apple’s role is at least conspiracy with AT&T. Apple also benefits from prevent positive competition with Samsung. The victims are us, people, and the consumers from US. We cannot expect Verizon, Sprint or T mobile to bring AT&T to court for monopoly because that never happened for the last five years. We don’t know why these big three companies allow AT&T the screw around. But we do know that we, the consumers from US are the true victims.
People from Europe, Asia or Africa enjoyed “Samsung galaxy S2” five months earlier than US people did. “Samsung galaxy note” is another three months earlier, even as today, the other big three US carriers still can’t announce for the galaxy note release. All the first four Major carriers in UK are already selling galaxy note.
We, the US consumers are being ignored and discriminated by the arrogant AT&T and Apple Inc. we need US DOJ to protect the US consumers’ rights.

All carriers get exclusivity for various models... IPhone (initially), Lumia 900, Galaxy Nexus, Droid Razr/Maxx, the entire Droid series, the EVO series, and the original G1 and G2, just to name a few. If you dislike a carrier, say it, but don't use unjustified statements to defend or support your perspective. The mobile landscape in the U.S. Is deliberately anti-monopoly, and, in fact, Verizon is larger than AT&T. The carriers work with the manufacturers creating a phone, and with those discussions some of the criteria might be exclusivity, and the carrier will share development or advertising costs to make sure the manufacturer gets sales, which benefits both parties. Research (I think Engadget's) the article about how the Motorola Atrix was developed.
At least AT&T's phones are usable worldwide and most are easily unlockable, so if you purchase at full price or after being out of contract, you can take your phone to any other GSM carrier (with some restrictions on bandwidths if not using the same as factory settings)

Probably in a few more months, the galaxy note might almost have the same interface(touchwiz ux rather than touchwiz 4) as the galaxy s 3. Just like what they did with the galaxy s(i9000)value pack update, it has touchwiz 3 before but when updated to its very last version, it already had touchwiz 4.

The review on the GNote was flawed, or a rush of judgement if you ask me, definitly did not deserve the 7/10 it got. Just like this review is DEFINITLY premature in that its GB vs ICS... OFC your going to pick ICS... /facepalm
That being said, I would still prefer the International GNote VS the US SG3 when it comes to the states, as it stands, the US is going to miss out on that Quad Core goodness that is Samsung's own bread and butter processor.
This should really have a NON-US tag for readers, considering IMHO, the GNote is still a better pick then the GS3.
Its all YMMV of course, I find the bigger phones MUCH more easy on the hands, I cant stand small candy bar phones. Oh, and I cant stand aspect ratio 16:9... NARROW SCREEN FOR THE LOSS... another win for the GNote...

Both phones are good, but it depends on what you're gonna use it for!! Im a big guy (6'7" 240lbs) and the Note is perfect for me. If you are a businessman/businesswoman then the note is good as well
Theres not much difference in specs, so the S3 would be perfect for most of america. you wouldnt miss much besides the S-Pen of course.

HI all gnote is not in a smartphone segment....it has overall different purpose....samsung targeted gnote to all proffessionals and students in creative fields ...like photographers, web designers, fashion designers, architects, and interior designers like me....its a class segment which defines its purpose very efficiently....i love note...s3 is also best in its segment(quad core)....its all about why and how we use our gadgets.......thankyou......there is nothing good nor bad on this earth....IT IS WHAT IT IS!

yeah i bought a note recently, i was thinking of buying a tablet but this guy attracted me more.
It has got everything i wanted from starting. I am having GB but will update it to ICS soon.
Ive experienced no lags, smooth gaming, and superb stills etc.
It should have got more than 9 in review as it is the king of its class.

I love my Galaxy Note, but I'll be trading it in for the SGS3. It isn't because I'm drawn by the III's slightly better specs. I have the note on my work account which is AT&T, but my personal account is Verizon. I've been using the Note for a few months now as my primary phone, and it's a great phone. Unfortunately, AT&T is like an icepick in the eyes and has caused me no end of lost data, lost GPS and mediocre call quality. I'd always heard that Verizon was better than AT&T because of the network, but always assumed it was a marginal issue. It isn't. It's huge.

Sorry comparison guy, but you underestimate the Galaxy Note way too much. It's much more powerful than you want newcomers to think.

If you really want more natural color go for retina display. Better natural color. No other screen can match the true beauty of our eye sight. Super amoled is just too saturated.not good for photography. The color is too exagerated. Unlike retina display, you actually see a real natural color same as what we see on our naked eye. Nxt to retina is amoled. Not super amoled.
