Always a difficult decision, choosing between the latest and greatest Android phone or the latest and greatest iPhone is a problem that every smartphone user faces at one point or another. Having both the Samsung Galaxy S III and Apple iPhone 4S here with us, we thought that we absolutely have to pit these two ambitious guys against each other in order to make it easier for you to determine if you are more of a Galaxy S or iPhone user...

This is a discussion for a review. To read the whole review, click here

I wont buy an apple product until they clean up their act and change their attitude about things.

The crapdragon... eehhh. probably not. Still waiting on confirmation of which version Tmo is going to get, even though I have suspicions that its going to be crapdragon.

Once I get confirmation of where the new 1900mhz spectrum is going to be active, I might eventually pick up an international version if I fall into one of those areas (which i think i do).
If not, here's to waiting for the Note or something else.. lol

Im not brand specific. Im tech specific.

could care less about brand,if it was based on which brand is popular than i would get an apple product but for me its more to do with which provide the best hardware and features money can buy.

The biggest downside to iAnything is iTunes and the closed ecosystem. While some may like that, most don't. Almost anyone will complain about how iTunes lost files, lost contacts with it's sync or did something to generally piss off the user. You can Jailbreak the iPhone which allows you to put it on another network... until Apple puts out a patch that effectively nullifies that work (A co-worker and I had that discussion yesterday about his i4S).

It's not that you can't DO things with the iPhone, its Apple's "Our way, or the Highway" Mantra that gets old fast. If they don't like something they simply remove your ability to access it, with or without your permission.

Microsoft tried doing some of that and got slapped with Anti-Trust lawsuits. MS now allows you to turn off/Uninstall applications (IE, Media player, etc) and install any number of third party solutions. Android does the same, you can install/uninstall anything you like. Apple, not a fat chance.

The biggest problem I have is the Apple fanbois love that. It's like they are suckers for punishment, those that like it "rough". They complain and in the same breath they praise Apple for doing it, its mind boggling.

I won't deny that Apple makes great hardware, their aluminium body MacBooks and i4S metal/glass construction are really top notch (except for the fact the glass breaks way too easily). But it's impossible to buy into the company line and its closed ways.

The SGIII has a superior interface, os, ecosystem and actually includes useful features. Sorry Apple, you built a great phone, Samsung just built a mini supercomputer.

I'm writing this before I read this review and I'm pretty sure iPhoneArena & Ray surely will make this a tie, despite of the more superior specs and more reasonable price that "you know what" has. . Let's see then.. lol

update ! after reading the whole review, I think it's quiet fair and transparent. But PA should make a winner in the next "clash between iOS and android titans", though more people will be pissed lol (really

I think I just realized why Samsung stuck with the Gingerbread green in the notification bar. Blue doesn't last as long as red and green.

"Are your needs limited to the basic phone stuff, surfing the web, occasional social network check and maybe even playing a game every now and then, but you have no intention of spending hours of rooting, flashing ROMs and searching for the ultimate widget set? Well, you guessed it you'll be better off with the iPhone 4S, as it's designed just for you, buddy."

So, you want to say that I will have to spend hours of rooting, flashing ROMs if I want to have ability to play games, browse the web and use social networks on Android devices??? So according to you, if I won't root and flash ROM of Android device, I wont be able to play games, browse the web and so on??? Are you joking???

who wants a gigantic 4.8" screen? I am not. who wants quad-core processor on a phone? I am not. I think quad core is useless in time for me. still love compact phone like iPhone 4S.

hohoho,, really fun with GSIII slogan "made for human". We're all know that a human just have 2 hands,, and if u operate the GSIII by that 2 hands, how cool you are? null. I think "made for beast" is totally rechange the previous slogan by its realitty. It isn't fit on my hand, Asian man hands,, and if it fit for u... WOW

some like phones with big phones some dont...just cause a samll or big phone is not for you does not make the phone redundant..i had the 4 and then the s2 and carrying the phone round was no different unless you where super tight jeans. the s3 yes its big but for me the advantages are worth the size and as long as its pocketable then thats what counts...didnt people make fun of the note and look how well thats done.it shows there are millions of people that do want bigger phones...i remember when the original iphone came out and i considered that big lol now its considered small, even 4.3'' phones are considered small by many.people eventually get a custom to certain things i mean there are many people who will not get the iphone just because of the screen size..basically its a good thing that there are all these phones with different screen size as not everyone likes the same things therefore there is no perfect screen size.

Unfortunately for you, a table tennis ball can shatter an iPhone.

Never try to play a table tennis game on an iphone. Your 2 x thumbs will cover 80% of the screen.

OMG just say THe GS 3 is better. IT blows it it out the water in every single way. How come they always call it even . Even though clearly the other phone is so much better.

Weak speaker? The GS II has a very loud speaker (back) when listening to music. You mean to tell me that they downgraded that?

The GS II is just as loud as the 4S.

Would like some clarification on this.

I don't see why you guys cannot write down that an android powered phone is better than an iphone. You pretty easily decided in the one x vs gs3 article that the gs3 wins (i think though it didn't) and now you say this and that and everything.... and then it comes down to preferences. Yeah, right.

Why did you show different views of key board. This review was worthless in my opinion . Buy which ever phone you want. I don't care what you buy because I wont be using it anyway. Not everyone is looking for same things anyway. Beginning to think this site is being paid by the companies to make these articles. Get real and tell the truth. There are problems with all these phones which you act like they don't exist. Not siding on either phone but am sick of wishy washy reviews.

Are you saying SGS3 can't do any of these things?

Wouldn't Gaming, web surfing, etc be better on a larger higher resolution screen?

"Apparently, those guys would be the kind of users who don't really pay so much attention to their smartphone, but still want something that's contemporary and reliable. Are your needs limited to the basic phone stuff, surfing the web, occasional social network check and maybe even playing a game every now and then, but you have no intention of spending hours of rooting, flashing ROMs and searching for the ultimate widget set?
