Samsung Galaxy S III Review

0. phoneArena 15 May 2012, 05:19 posted on

Well, it is now 2012, and the time has finally come for the Galaxy S III to show up on stage. The difference between this launch and those of the Galaxy S's before it is that the expectations of the audience are much higher now. It is time to take a good, in-depth look at the device and see just how much of a Galaxy S this new Galaxy S III happens to be...

Well I guess you all should know that the SG3 is not quad core only has the dual core S4 processor as the HTC One X does. Just seen it on cnethttp://news.cnet.com/8301-1035_3-57446342-94/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-coming-to-five-u.s-carriers-in-june-no-quad-core-exynos-on-board/?tag=mncol;txt

Yes.. Dual-Core for the 4G version... But for the 3G... It's quadcore. Depending on what type of product u like... U can not have both.

FOR ALL OF THOSE iOS USERS OUT THERE! THERE IS A PROGRAM CALLED ""QUASAR"" AVAILABLE ON CYDIA, THAT ENABLES YOU TO HAVE SEVERAL WINDOWS OPEN ON THE SCREEN, KIND OF LIKE THE SAMSUNG'S ""S VIDEO"" BUT ON STERIODS

no doubt...GSIII outshined all the phones in the wireless industry...may not be the hottest looker but it has the coolest functionality ever...I bet even this phone stay in my hands for 2 years this still be reigning as top-notch phone...I have Iphone 4s as well...but GSIII is far more excellent than any other phone than I can think currently...my wife have HTC one x and samsung galaxy nexus...that's why I can really tell and compare...GSIII simply amazed me....the king of all phones.

I would also worry about the frame cracking, see my earlier post! For your ease of reference I am re-posting in the body of this one................Note to all....If you are thinking of getting this phone, DON'T. My reason, I have had the blue variant for a month, bought on 3 July to be precise. Without dropping it or any irresponsible behaviour on my part, accidental or otherwise, I noticed a hairline crack at the bottom of the phone around where the usb charger is located.

Popped into carphonewarehouse, they wanted to charge £169.99 to send it back to Samsung, their system would not allow them to send it back other than as customer damage or cosmetic damage which would incur the charge. Naturally, I said NO, I would send it back myself as it is clearly a manufacturing fault, left them an internet article which claimed Samsung was aware and were investigating the issue.

Just spoke to Samsung who stated it is not a warranty issue and to take it one of their Service Centres! A long argument later by which time I thought I was talking to robot and me venting about the appalling service etc. I decided I would but the likelyhood is that I will sell this as a B Grade used phone to CEX, take a loss and NEVER EVER buy a Samsung product EVER AGAIN. Not sure I can attach a pic on here but feel free to google "Samsung Galaxy S3 cracked case problems".

THIS IS AN ADVISORY, IF YOU HAVE ANY SENSE STAY AWAY FROM THIS HANDSET AND SAVE YOUR MONEY. Shocking for a so called premium handset. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!

There's a lot of Apple fanboys/trolls whinning about fictious problems with the S3. Take it with a grain of salt.

I have a One x and S3 and the problems with cracks in the S3 are very real, it is costing me £135 to resolve. Believe it or not, that is down to you but unfortunately the truth hurts. The problem is not so much the phone but the appalling customer support and denial. The problem manifests in the blue variant, the service centre in Teddington, UK confirmed repairing 30 units so far. Also suggest anyone who doubts this reads about the issue on Knowyourmobile or androidauthority sites. All you have to do is google Samsung S3 Craacked case problem! It is not rocket science! There is a reason Samsung recalled 600,000 units due to faulty casing.

Get your head out of the sand and stop commenting from a stand point of ignorance. I don't particularly care for iPhone or Apple! Oh by the way, I also own the Xperia S but I guess that makes me an Apple fanboy........................doh!

I would highly recommend not buying this phone. It is so cheaply made that any little drop will crack your screen. I had it in my coat pocket, bent down to pick something up and it fell - cracked the entire screen. Mind you, this is not a very high drop, from my pocket to the ground. I have had numerous phones from different manufacturers such as Motorola (one with just as sensitive of a screen as the S3) and Nokia and never once did the screen crack. I've had this Samsung Galaxy S3 for 2.5 weeks now and the screen already cracks. I would take the blame, had it fallen from a higher point or had every other phone I've owned done the same thing. It just proves the poor quality of this phone. To top it off, I called Samsung and had even been willing to pay for the replacement screen, seeing as how "the warranty does not cover physical damage", but being that the cost to replace a screen is $178 I would not give them that satisfaction. $178 is probably about the same amount it took to build the cheap thing, they only hike up the price to $300 to take advantage of the consumer. This review will be on every site I can add a review for this phone because I will do everything in my power to warn the potential customers about this poorly manufactured phone and the poorly established "warranty" it comes with. Needless to say, this will be the first and only time I go with a Samsung phone...Samsung just lost another customer.

I liked the look of the S3 but wouldn't have brought one, however I was lucky enough to win one in a competition. I have to say that although I would never have gone out and brought one, once you have owned one it is very hard to go back to any other phone. It is such a breeze to use, and although big it is thin enough to be comfortable in my pocket. Anyway its a great phone and I am glad that PA gave it a great rating.
