Samsung Galaxy S III Review

0. phoneArena 15 May 2012, 05:19 posted on

Well, it is now 2012, and the time has finally come for the Galaxy S III to show up on stage. The difference between this launch and those of the Galaxy S's before it is that the expectations of the audience are much higher now. It is time to take a good, in-depth look at the device and see just how much of a Galaxy S this new Galaxy S III happens to be...

I didn't see anything mention about the connectivity/reception.
Is it gonna screwed up again like the Galaxy Nexus?
Anyway, it's better to wait a few months after it's out.

the only connection and reception issues are found on the CDMA devices for Sprint and Verizon.

Does anyone think PA lets sales effect scores?

i really want this phone but im struggling to get over its size. I honestly think samsung screwed up on its size. Should have been the good ol 4.3 or 4.5 MAX

Well, I'm sure you'll love it after you get used to it.

You can hardly see the difference between the Galaxy Nexus, Epic 4G Touch, and this device. It's just that they use way more screen and way less wasted space. Even the Note can be comfortable once you get used to it.

Lol. You may get used to the Note, but you'll never forget it's a big-honkin' phone. I thought the 4.3 on the Droid X would take some getting used to, but frankly it didn't. The Note however is still a work in progress after months. Put a case on it and legs and you'll have a nice coffee table.

I still love it though, freak that it is.

enjoy watching.
In my opinion it just shows how far behind samsung is compared to apple. I'm not speaking in general but about s assistant. They wanted to make something similar and probalby better than siri and they failed. That's a gimmick.
That's the main difference. When apple does something it is polished (mostly). Samsung (the others too) makes an imitation trying to catch up rotten apple.
Haters and no-haters.
I don't like neither samsung nor apple.
I just thought it would be funny to see "assistant results" and who is better.

It's a good score, however I looked at the Galaxy Nexus review and compared positives, the Galaxy S3 is far more capable than the Galaxy Nexus yet scores lower and has less positives and more negatives.

There’s no consistency here at all, I think you should maybe stop writing reviews Ray S.

hello, i have an important question about the galaxy s3 multi-tasking,

is it the same as the htc one x? meaning does it aggressively kills background processes or is it like galaxy s2?

because somehow nobody mentioned anything about hox multi-task new "feature" in reviews

so i wondered if its an ics 4.0.4 problem,

i have a sgs2 and i want the sgs3

Can someone tell me if the smart stay feature on the gs3 works even in a very dark room? What i mean is can the phone's camera recognize the users eyes in the dark room?

I am not a fan of the Galaxy S III. I haven't actually felt it, but if it is like other Samsung Galaxy S and S II Phones, it has an extremely cheap feel to it. Also my brother has an Epic 4G Touch and the interface stutters a lot more than my Original EVO.

I have held a one X , it is by far the best handset I have experience.
I have not held the SG 3 yet. the designed just look cheapy ..
but the SG 2 was a good phone. just the battery is super terrible.

Samsung is making these at 500,000 per month at their factory in Korea. Almost 10,000,000 on preorder. When will US get them? You do the math.

samsung Confirmed that the entire case, including the battery cover, are made of polycarbonate!
"Polycarbonate is used on the battery cover. Polycarbonate is lightweight, solid and is already being widely used in the mobile industry. It was chosen as the best material to represent the minimal organic design of GALAXY S III. Using three layers of high quality, pure and clear polycarbonate, not only is the phone’s aesthetic elevated, but the durability and scratch resistance is maximized"

I don't really like the design but I like what they've done with touch wiz and the stay on feature. S voice is pathetic though they should've teamed up with google and done something better. Wouldn't buy it and I find the Lumia 900 a much better phone.

Why pathetic? Though the S-Voice is not as great as Siri, it's not that too bad. It can do tasks as well, like Texting, calling, & navigation.

I love my Galaxy S3!!!

I will wait for the next generation of iPhone, maybe the screen will be bigger. I love Apple too. :D

Not really I have an iPhone 4 and hopefully i'll either buy the next nexus branded phone so that i dont have to wait ages for updates or the next iPhone... Jelly Bean is really great and all.
SGS3 isn't designed well it looks and feels plasticy and cheap and isnt something i'd pay the same price as a new iPhone for.
