Samsung Galaxy I7500 Preview

The Samsung Galaxy I7500 is the third one to take on the Android universe and the first such device of the manufacturer. It does remind us of the HTC Magic, although the device certainly has several aces up the sleeve to tackle its rivals...

from you tube demos i've seen, the phone is not really a touch-screen. you use the d-pad to scroll through "pages" of menu or contact list, etc. the only time you "touch" the screen is when you tap an icon to open the app... is it so ?

No, it is a full touchscreen phone - stay tuned for our video preview, which will be published soon.

Finaly some photo sampels The sample images are not that good they look worse than Omnia I900, lets hope that the release version has a lot better picture quality, look at the stones they are still but look slightly blurred. Omg how rubbish is the 320x240 video you would think the camera was a 2 megapixel camera, come on samsung IMPROVE

The keyboard look slightly different from the cupcake the ?123 key, is there more than one keyboard style like a phonepad or is there just the qwerty keyboard. Thanks.

The virtual keyboard and the dialer (phone pad) are exactly the same as the ones of the T-Mobile G1 with Android 1.5 UK ROM. But still, their appearance may be changed in the final version of the device.

Any chance you could get me the USB Vendor Id and Product Id for this device? I'd love to add support for it to doubleTwist. In case you're not familiar with doubleTwist, the BBC described us as "iTunes on steroids". Unlike iTunes, we'll sync music and video to any device!http://www.doubletwist.com

You know, I really like what I see! I, however, think that an optical mouse would be GREAT and be just as functional without taking up as much real estate on the phone as the directional pad with the "ok" button at the center of it. I'm excited to see the upgraded OS as well!

I expect more vivid camera shots from the phone like the normal light, moderate light and the low light shots reviews done on some phones..tnx

based on specs, i7500 has the same screen size as htc magic if not bigger - i think 3.2"..... but the thing is although i7500 looks to have more "glass surface" but when turned on you can see that htc magic has actually or effectively a bigger "display" screen. i see this in many side-by-side photos between the 2 ..... well i guess we just have to take a ruler to really measure the actual display size... is it true ? coz i prefer larger screens to a powerful camera...

Wow this phone looks really nice and I love the memory expansion slot and standard headphone jack over the usb headset. But that begin said it Samsung that worries me they have release a lot PoS bricks here in the US and this being samy first try at android phone I got doubts. I am moving from verizon and their insano rates to tmobile or sprint, if I go Tmobile it going to be a full service android phone, nice first look just wish it wasn't made by samsung.

Seems like a great phone, but any word yet on availability in the UK? we are now in the middle of June and we don't even know if it will get to the UK and if it will, which carrier will supply it?

this baby'd better be launched soon.... htc with the supposedly customized android UI looks stunning... but less-than-impressive camera may be a hold-off to some of us though....

I got this galaxy phone last week... It's a great phone but I can not find the voice dialing or speach recognition apps. I must say i am very happy with it but hope it was a bit wider so that the keyboard would be easier to use... The speaker sound is excellent and navigation pretty easy! The T-mobile stores unfortunately are not familiar yet with this phone and could not help me. Can't wait for a manual with instructions in English... Lol

The Android saga continus. Expanding more than I OS (on iPhone). I think there is just a matter of time before Android is bigger then iOS. Greetings Andreas fromhttp://dagkonferensgoteborg.se
