Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos Preview
An 8 MP camera unit is what is housed inside the Grand DUOS, with adjacent LED flash and zero shutter lag. The camera interface is also well-known, and offers numerous scene presets, as well as a macro mode, plus various color effects to spice up your pics.

Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos Sample Images
Videos are recorded in 1080 definition with 30 frames per second, and the camera is fast in both modes. You can see a few samples taken with our preproduction Grand DUOS below.

Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos Indoor Sample Video:
All the bells and whistles of Samsung's Nature UX music and video players are present on the Grand DUOS, complete with a rich number of equalizer presets, as well as the PopUp Play function, which detaches the video you are currently watching and pins it on the screen while you do something else around it. DivX/Xvid video format files are supported out of the box, too.
Samsung inserted a 2,100 mAh battery in the Grand DUOS, just like the one it has for the Galaxy S III, and hasn't listed official talk and playback times yet. The dual-standby capabilities of the phone, however, might take more than the usual toll on the battery life, as the phone has to stay hooked up to more than one network at a time. The battery unit is perfectly swappable, for that matter.
We thought we'll be throwing up as soon as we see WVGA resolution on a 5” screen, but in reality it is not that bad for everyday tasks, as the large Grand DUOS gets held farther from your eyes than usual. The rest of the specs are adequate as we have a dual-core processor, 8 MP camera, and the ability to add storage via the microSD card slot.
Thus if you have been longing for a huge screen phone that manages two SIM cards at once, it is not that you'll have many alternatives to the Grand DUOS anyway. Combine this fact with the chassis recognition and respect Samsung's Galaxy line has earned lately, and the only unknown in the success equation for the Grand DUOS market niche is the retail price it will pop at.

I dont think this phone is 'market ready' yet, feel like sammy is hurrying a bit to compete with the Canvas series in India..

Dont compare Samsung with micromax....its like comparing Ferrari with Maruti-suzuki.

I agree on with you when it comes to quality, but sales is what that matters and canvas is doing well, and samsung just cant ignore that .. thats what I was trying to say..

how do you know that Canvas is doing well???? are you a market analyst???
then tell me the sales figure of Canvas 2.....

I dont think that the repliers age would matter here! :-)
Anyway the market and price and sales all depend on the company's customer care and marketing stratergy. I wont say the Samsung is very best in customer care but when compare to MMX, it is right at the top. Just see how the two companies are giving updates? how many firmweres does mmx released to public? Sammy is way ahead. Also mind you, mmx does not manufacture phones, most of the time they just bring things down from China and put their stamp. But Sammy does most of the manufacturing parts on their own! Also brand recognition is a positive factor for sammy!

Yes age doesnt matter :)
but the boy seemed like a hard core fan boy and wasnt ready to take anything against Sammy! I did agree with him that with respect to quality, samsung is way ahead, but my point was and is Canvas range is getting lots of attention, the matter of fact that it stayed no.2 in most interested mobiles category at GSMArena tells you the story. Thats exactly what I was trying to convey and the boy wanted market figures!

No cross swards bro.. but I just checked on GSMArena stats,
By rating it(Canvas) stays in the 11th place (overall - no place for SGG), and no position within first 8, when it comes to daily ratings ( So do SGG)
By daily interest its no where among top 8 (SGG stays at 3rd and 4th positions).

I am surprised at myself that i am dragging this nonsense further more, anyway, do you realize that this article and my comment were posted on 22nd Jan? and the interest for mobile changes with every new mobile announced. I was talking about the ratings of that time and here is a proof
I think I will rest my case here. Thank you.

well actually Micromax has come a long way now, they are gonna release their canvas hd with a 5 inch HD screen at a really affordable price...........but they managed to keep some good specs like a quad core processor,,,,,,,,,,,

Samsung cant ignore that category of market...

Who would want a 5inch screen with 800x480 resolution?
They could have at least made it 960x540 for the PPI to reach 220.
Instead they could have just cut the camera to 5MP.

I have experienced this phone just today at a SAMSUNG STORE it looks good. Comfortable to grip on. One thing that I want to know that has Samsung made it in only white color ??? And yup Camera works good having 4x zooming in both even in Full HD video Recording. Available In-built Space is 4.07 GB & RAM 867 MB as far as resolution Concern then 187 PPI is not that much worst physically when you take this phone in palm. Still a big question mark on the name of processor..????? Best Buy Price in Surat, Gujarat 20,900 R.S /-
