Following up after the popular Discovery 925, which was a very well-rounded model, its successor in the Plantronics Discovery 975 aims to bring forth yet another similar experience. As it’s priced at the higher end of the spectrum at $130, you’re naturally presented with some nice features...

You must have been doing something wrong be quad the 975 does indeed support voice control. I have had it paired with the iPhone 4 and by holding the button down for about a second the iPhones voice command prompt shows up. It works wonderfully especially when I'm driving and my iPhone is docked. Great way to control my music in the car. I freaking LOVE this headset. It's call quality is fan-freaking-tastic!! Battery life is amazing and when you remember the charger which gives it another 2 and a half charges it's nearly unlimited. I'd go almost a week without charging. Only downfall is the lack of a2dp.

Funny you're just getting to this headset now. It was a 'shiny object' LAST YEAR!

Overall, I agree with the review, it's not wonderful. It's also OLD.

One of the best BT headsets i've owned. The confusing thing is why is this just getting reported now? I've had one for almost a year...lost one, rebought it and have my current one for 6 months. Call quality, battery life, & design are one of the best on the market in my opinion plus audible alerts let me know when battery gets low or when i'm out of range of my phone. Works fine for me.

I have to disagree with you about the streaming music part. Why/ Because the dulcet tones of Berlin's "Metro" are playing in my ear as I write this. I have a Touch Pro 2 CDMA with a custom ROM (MaxSense) . I just set the handset BT settings to play system sounds and the music streams. This is the BEST BT headset I have EVER owned. My business demands that I sometimes call clients back in the car and they can never tell. Beautimus.
